A study involving the completion of quasi 2-normed space

open access: yes, 2012
The fundamental aim of this paper is to introduce and investigate a new property of quasi 2-normed space based on a question given by C. Park (2006) [2] for the completion quasi 2-normed space.

ALS-FTLD associated mutations of SQSTM1 impact on Keap1-Nrf2 signalling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The transcription factor Nrf2 and its repressor protein Keap1 play key roles in the regulation of antioxidant stress responses and both Keap1-Nrf2 signalling and oxidative stress have been implicated in the pathogenesis of the ALS-FTLD spectrum of ...

Doenças reumatológicas autoimunes e sua associação com os genes killer immunoglobulin-like receptors Autoimmune rheumatic diseases and their association with killer immunoglobulin-like receptor genes

KIR2DL2/2DL3-E(35) alleles are functionally stronger than -Q(35) alleles. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
KIR2DL2 and KIR2DL3 segregate as alleles of a single locus in the centromeric motif of the killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) gene family. Although KIR2DL2/L3 polymorphism is known to be associated with many human diseases and is an important

KCNJ2 is Required for NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation That Drives Allergic Airway Inflammation and Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study aims to evaluate the impact of the potassium channel KCNJ2 on asthma development. KCNJ2 promotes NLRP3 inflammasome activation through both Ca2+ influx and K+ efflux in airway epithelial cells, which drives allergic airway inflammation and remodeling, suggesting a promising therapeutic target for asthma.

Phosphotyrosines in the killer cell inhibitory receptor motif of NKB1 are required for negative signaling and for association with protein tyrosine phosphatase 1C. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
NKB1 is one member of a growing family of killer cell inhibitory receptors (KIR). It is expressed on natural killer (NK) cells and T cells, and has been shown to inhibit cytolytic functions of these cells upon interacting with its ligand, HLA-B (Bw4). We

Deciphering the killer-cell immunoglobulin-like receptor system at super-resolution for natural killer and T-cell biology. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Killer-cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs) are components of two fundamental biological systems essential for human health and survival. First, they contribute to host immune responses, both innate and adaptive, through their expression by natural ...

Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors and Immunomodulators for Cancer Immunotherapy: Insights Into Resistance and Therapeutic Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The schematic diagram illustrates the roles of novel immune checkpoints, immunomodulatory factors, cell death and multimodal technologies in cancer immunotherapy. Abstract Cancer immunotherapy has redefined cancer treatment. However, the molecular and cellular basis of immune evasion and therapeutic resistance remains incompletely understood.

Cholesterol and Kir channels [PDF]

open access: yesIUBMB Life, 2009
AbstractTo date, most of the major types of Kir channels, Kir2s, Kir3s, Kir4s, and Kir6s, have been found to partition into cholesterol‐rich membrane domains and/or to be regulated by changes in the level of membrane cholesterol. Surprisingly, however, in spite of the structural similarities between different Kirs, effects of cholesterol on different ...

Reprogramming Antitumor Immunity: NK Cell Strategies to Navigate the Immunosuppressive Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tumor immune escape is a major barrier to durable cancer immunotherapy, as advanced malignancies create a tumor microenvironment (TME) that preferentially exhausts and disables T cell responses. While most approved cell therapies are T cell‐based, this limitation motivates the exploration of an alternative effector cell platform.
