Istraživanjem 22 uzoraka kukuruza roda 2004. i 6 uzoraka krmnih smjesa za svinje u koje je ugrađen kukuruz roda 2004, na prisutnost mikotoksina zearalenona, utvrđena je kontaminacija tim mikotoksinom kod 17 uzoraka kukuruza (77, 3%) i 3 uzorka smjese (50, 0%), a količina mikoroksina kretala se od 200 do 1.200 ppb.
