Price Markups and Upstreamness in World Input-Output Data
This research uses the publicly available World Input-Output Database (WIOD) to investigate the relationship between an industry’s markup and its upstreamness, the industry’s position in the vertical chain of production; the research also identifies ...

Genomic structure of the human ribosomal protein L41 gene [PDF]
AbstractUsing PCR technique, genomic DNA encoding the gene of the human ribosomal protein L41 was amplified. Subsequent sequencing showed that the gene was constituted with 4 exons and 3 introns. Because the amplified gene contained introns and whole the open reading frame, we concluded the fragment corresponded to the functional gene.

Mitochondrial Ribosomal Protein L41 Suppresses Cell Growth in Association with p53 and p27Kip1 [PDF]
The p53 protein arrests the cell cycle at the G1 phase when stabilized by the interaction between ribosomal proteins and HDM2 under growth-inhibitory conditions. Meanwhile, p53, when translocated to the mitochondria in response to cell death signals, induces apoptosis via transcription-independent mechanisms.

Fat Composition Measured by Proton Spectroscopy: A Breast Cancer Tumor Marker?
Altered metabolism including lipids is an emerging hallmark of breast cancer. The purpose of this study was to investigate if breast cancers exhibit different magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS)-based lipid composition than normal fibroglandular tissue
