Mixed silages of sugarcane and forage peanut treated with Lactobacillus buchneri

open access: yesCiência Animal Brasileira, 2022
Abstract There is evidence for the beneficial effects of forage peanut on the nutritive value and fermentation profile of silages; however, its effects on sugarcane silage have not been determined. The objective of the study was to evaluate the chemical composition, fermentation profile, microbial composition, and dry matter recovery (DMR) of sugarcane

Biological properties of lactobacillus

open access: yesБюллетень сибирской медицины, 2003
Lactobacillus are an important component of the human and animal resident microflora. Lactobacillus possess a pronounced antagonist activity with respect to pathogens and conditionally pathogens as well as to other kinds and even to lactobacillus strains.

Ensiling whole-crop wheat and corn in large containers with Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus buchneri

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Microbiology & Biotechnology, 2002
The effect of applying Lactobacillus buchneri, alone or in combination with Lactobacillus plantarum, at ensiling, on the aerobic stability of wheat and corn silages was studied in 50-l plastic containers. Treatments comprised control (no additives), L. plantarum, L. buchneri and a combination of L. plantarum+L. buchneri.

Safety Assessment of Two New Lactobacillus Strains as Probiotic for Human Using a Rat Model. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Two previously isolated Lactobacillus strains (L. fermentum HM3 from human milk and L. buchneri FD2 from fermented dates), intended as probiotic for human, were assessed for their safety using acute and subacute oral toxicity tests in rats.

Fermentative profile of maize silage inoculated with Lactobacillus buchneri

open access: yesRevista de Ciências Agrárias, 2019
Biological silage additives can assist in making silages by promoting a rapid reduction in silage pH and preventing aerobic deterioration. The current Lactobacillus buchnerion the market produces acetic acid slowly and identifying strains that would improve aerobic stability earlier in the ensiling process would be helpful.

Queima e aditivos químicos e bacterianos na ensilagem de cana-de-açúcar Burning and chemical and bacterial additives in sugar cane silage

Effect of Formic Acid and Inoculants on Microbial Community and Fermentation Profile of Wilted or Un-Wilted Italian Ryegrass Silages during Ensiling and Aerobic Exposure

open access: yesFermentation, 2022
Wilted (around 35% DM) or un-wilted (around 35% DM) Italian ryegrass treated with three additives (formic acid, FA; Lactobacillus plantarum, LP; Lactobacillus buchneri, LB) was utilized to evaluate the effects of the dry matter (DM) contents on the ...

Fermentation and aerobic stability of corn silage inoculated with Lactobacillus buchneri [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Zootecnia, 2012
The characteristics of fermentation and aerobic stability were evaluated in corn silage inoculated with different doses of Lactobacillus buchneri. The whole corn plant (300 g/kg DM) was ensiled in quadruplicate laboratory silos (7L). L. buchneri 40788 was applied at 5×10(4), 1×10(5), 5×10(5) and 1×10(6) cfu/g of fresh forage.

Microbiota succession during aerobic stability of maize silage inoculated with Lentilactobacillus buchneri NCIMB 40788 and Lentilactobacillus hilgardii CNCM‐I‐4785

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, 2021
Aerobic deterioration of silage following feeding out is responsible for the deterioration of its quality. Inoculation of silage with lactic acid bacteria is one strategy to limit these effects. A trial was performed using whole‐plant corn ensiled in bag

Northeast China Traditional Kimchi (Paocai) Probiotic Resources Metabolized Uric Acid and Relieved Hyperuricemia in Mice

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
Traditional fermented Kimchi “paocai”, commonly consumed in Northeast China, was screened for probiotic resources capable of degrading uric acid in vitro and alleviating hyperuricemia in a mouse model. Abstract Current pharmacological therapies for hyperuricemia (HUA), though effective, pose safety concerns, including allopurinol‐induced severe dermal ...
