The subunits MECL-1 and LMP2 are mutually required for incorporation into the 20S proteasome

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1997
Processing of antigens for presentation by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules requires the activity of the proteasome. The 20S proteasome complex is composed of 14 different subunits, 2 of which can be substituted by the interferon γ (IFN-γ)-inducible and MHC-encoded subunits LMP2 and LMP7 (low molecular mass poylpeptides 2 and 7).

In vitro anti-tumor immune response induced by dendritic cells transfected with EBV-LMP2 recombinant adenovirus

open access: yes, 2006
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a high-incidence tumor in southern China. Latent membrane proteins 2 (LMP2) is a subdominant antigen of EBV.

open access: yesEJC Supplements, 2015
The tumor microenvironment plays an important role in the progression of cancer and may be regulated by proteolysis, including the proteasomes. The proteasomes modify the biologically important molecules involved in the pathogenesis and progression of a ...

DataSheet1_Genetic ablation of Lmp2 increases the susceptibility for impaired cardiac function.pdf

open access: yes
Proteasome degradation is an integral part of cellular growth and function. Proteasomal intervention may mitigate adverse myocardial remodeling, but is associated with the onset of heart failure. Previously, we have demonstrated that increasing abundance

Immunoproteasome subunit LMP2 expression is deregulated in Sjögren's syndrome but not in other autoimmune disorders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Background: The proteasome system has a pivotal role in the control of the immune response, which suggests that it might be involved in the pathogenesis of autoimmune disorders. Objective: To investigate the expression profile of selected proteasomal ...

Proteasome LMP2/β1i subunit as biomarker for human uterine leiomyosarcoma

open access: yes, 2014
Uterine leiomyosarcoma (Ut-LMS) develops more frequently in the myometrium of the uterine body than in the uterine cervix. Although the development of gynecological tumors is often correlated with the secretion of female hormones that of Ut-LMS does not,

Epigenetic priming restores the HLA class-I antigen processing machinery expression in Merkel cell carcinoma

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rare and aggressive, yet highly immunogenic skin cancer. The latter is due to its viral or UV-associated carcinogenesis. For tumor progression MCC has to escape the host’s immuno-surveillance, e.g.

Characterization of the immunproteasome subunits LMP2 and LMP7 in the mouse brain

open access: yes, 2018

The E.coli Heat Labile Enterotoxin B-Subunit Enhances CD8+ T-Cell Killing of Epithelial Tumour Cells Expressing EBV LMP2

open access: yes, 2006
Background: EBV LMP2 is a potential tumour immunotherapeutic target but EBV lymphoblastoid cell lines (LCL) are not normally susceptible to killing by uncloned LMP2-specfic CD8+ cytotoxic T-cells (CTL) in vitro unless pulsed with epitope peptide or if ...
