Identification and Experimental Validation of PANoptosis Key Genes for Constructing a PANoptosis Risk Diagnostic Model in Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesThe Journal of Gene Medicine, Volume 28, Issue 10, October 2026.
This study identified seven PANoptosis key genes (ACSBG1, FXYD1, APCS, CEACAM1, ERAP2, ABL1, and FZD3) in intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) through integrated bioinformatics analysis of GEO datasets. Using machine learning algorithms (RF, SVM, XGB, and GLM), a PANoptosis risk diagnostic model was constructed and validated.

Lumbosacral Plexopathy: A Single‐Center Review of Etiology, Clinical Presentation, Electrodiagnostic Findings, and Long‐Term Outcomes

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, Volume 74, Issue 4, Page 1220-1229, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims Lumbosacral plexopathy (LSP) results from a spectrum of etiologies and can cause substantial functional impairment. Limited data exist on the relative distribution of etiologies and outcomes across broad tertiary‐care cohorts spanning multiple causes of LSP.

“Abductor Sparing”: A New Selective Involvement in ALS

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, Volume 74, Issue 4, Page 1263-1269, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims Various signs of selective muscle involvement have been reported in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) but such studies for the lower limbs are scarce. We formed a preliminary impression that hip abductors (Ab) are often preserved in ALS.

Exercise and Autonomic Cardiovascular Function—Insights From Spinal Cord‐Injured Humans: A Narrative Review

open access: yesActa Physiologica, Volume 242, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The cardiovascular response to acute exercise is mediated by the autonomic nervous system (ANS) control mechanisms that modulate vascular resistance to support blood pressure and ensure adequate blood flow to active muscles. These autonomic neurocirculatory control mechanisms include a feedforward mechanism, known as central command, and three
