Metastatic model of HPV+ oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma demonstrates heterogeneity in tumor metastasis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Human papillomavirus induced (HPV+) cancer incidence is rapidly rising, comprising 60–80% of oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas (OPSCCs); while rare, recurrent/metastatic disease accounts for nearly all related deaths.

MicroRNA in Lung Cancer Metastasis [PDF]

open access: yesCancers, 2019
Tumor metastasis is a hallmark of cancer, with distant metastasis frequently developing in lung cancer, even at initial diagnosis, resulting in poor prognosis and high mortality. However, available biomarkers cannot reliably predict cancer spreading sites.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

A Meta-analysis of Association between MGMT Gene
Promoter Methylation and Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2014
Backgroud and objective DNA promoter methylation of the tumor suppressor genes was one of the key mechanism for gene silence. The aim of this study is to investigate the difference of MGMT gene promoter methylation rate in tumor tissue and autologous ...

Research Progress of Role and Mechanism of SETD7 in Tumor Occurrence
and Progression

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2023
The occurence and development of tumors is a complicated process, which not only depends on the mutation or deletion of genes, but also is affected by epigenetic regulation. Accumulating evidences have shown that epigenetic modifications play fundamental

Neutrophil infiltration associated genes on the prognosis and tumor immune microenvironment of lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
The neutrophils exhibit both anti-tumor and pro-tumor effects in cancers. The correlation between neutrophils and tumor development in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is still uncertain, possibly due to a lack of specific neutrophil infiltration evaluation ...

DACH1 suppresses breast cancer as a negative regulator of CD44. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Dachshund homolog 1 (DACH1), a key cell fate determination factor, contributes to tumorigenesis, invasion, metastasis of human breast neoplasm. However, the exact molecular mechanisms for the anti-tumor roles of DACH1 in breast carcinoma are still lack ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Ensartinib as a neoadjuvant therapy for stage IIIA non-small cell lung cancer patients with EML4-ALK fusion: a case report and literature review

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) inhibitors have shown efficacy in treating ALK-positive advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. However, the effectiveness of ensartinib neoadjuvant therapy remains ambiguous.

Mechanism of Warburg Effect and Its Effect on Tumor Metastasis

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2015
Cancer cells exhibit altered glucose metabolism characterized by a preference for aerobic glycolysis even when the oxygen content is normal, a phenomenon termed “Warburg effect”. However the definite molecular mechanisms of Warburg effect remains unclear,
