Innovative Test Strip‐Based Colorimetric Sensors Integrated With Affinity Chromatography: Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitor Screening Breakthrough in Lycium Barbarum Leaves

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic diagrams illustrating the breakthrough in the screening of AChE inhibitors from LBL, and the research process of the pharmacodynamics of the NCP are presented. ABSTRACT Current Alzheimer's drugs exhibit limited effectiveness, highlighting the necessity for multi‐target treatments.

Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology
Glioblastoma (GB) is the most aggressive primary brain tumor with poor prognosis despite multimodal therapy. Calorie‐restricted diets have emerged as putative strategies to augment anticancer therapies. We employed UHPLC‐high‐resolution mass spectrometry

The High‐Sensitivity C‐Reactive Protein−Albumin−Lymphocyte Index Is a Prognostic Marker for All‐Cause and Cardiovascular Mortality in Patients With ST‐Elevation Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Inflammation and immune dysfunction may worsen the prognosis of patients with ST‐segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Aims This study aimed to assess whether the high‐sensitivity C‐reactive protein–albumin–lymphocyte index (hsCALLYI) could be used to predict the prognosis of STEMI patients who received emergency ...

Association between the third trimester maternal serum metabolome and child growth and development through the first year of life

open access: yesScientific Reports
Evidence suggests that maternal metabolome may be associated with child health outcomes. We analyzed the association between the maternal metabolome between 28–35 gestational weeks and child growth and development during the first year.

Accumulation of alkyl-lysophosphatidylcholines in Niemann-Pick disease type C1

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research
Lysosomal function is impaired in Niemann-Pick disease type C1 (NPC1), a rare and inherited neurodegenerative disorder, resulting in late endosomal/lysosomal accumulation of unesterified cholesterol.

Metabolic abnormalities and reprogramming in cats with naturally occurring hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1256-1270, April 2025.
Abstract Background and aims The heart is a metabolic organ rich in mitochondria. The failing heart reprograms to utilize different energy substrates, which increase its oxygen consumption. These adaptive changes contribute to increased oxidative stress.

The acquisition of lysophosphatidylcholine by African trypanosomes

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1993
Bloodstream forms of the African trypanosome, Trypanosoma brucei, can acquire substantial amounts of exogenous lysophospholipid. Lysophosphatidylcholine uptake is through a pathway consisting of three enzymes, phospholipase A1, acyl-CoA ligase, and lysophosphatidylcholine:acyl-CoA acyltransferase. The pathway enables the organism to acquire fatty acids

Dapagliflozin alleviates high‐fat‐induced obesity cardiomyopathy by inhibiting ferroptosis

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1358-1373, April 2025.
Abstract Aim: Dapagliflozin (Dapa) is a novel hypoglycaemic agent with multiple cardiovascular protective effects, and it is widely used in treatment of heart failure patients, but whether it can improve obese phenotype of heart failure and its mechanism is still unclear.

Targeted Lipid Analysis of Haemolytic Mycelial Extracts of Aspergillus niger

open access: yesMolecules, 2014
Ethanolic extracts of mycelia from Aspergillus niger (strain N402) grown in liquid media were observed to have haemolytic activity on bovine erythrocytes. This haemolytic activity decreased significantly during the time of growth (1–3 days).

Seed lipid profiles of perennial ryegrass: Global patterns and differentiation of ryegrass cultivars and Epichloë endophytes

open access: yesGrassland Research, EarlyView.
Seed lipid profiles from three ryegrass cultivars infected with AR501 show distinct changes in the medium‐chain diacylglycerols, triacylglycerols and sphingolipids. The differential peal LN745.5052_5.78 can be identified as PG 16:0_18:2 with the supporting ms2 fragmentation spectrum. Abstract Background Forage perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) has
