Antiphospholipase A2 Receptor Autoantibodies: A Comparison of Three Different Immunoassays for the Diagnosis of Idiopathic Membranous Nephropathy

open access: yesJournal of Immunology Research, 2014
Background. The recent identification of circulating autoantibodies directed towards the M-type phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) has been a major advancement in the serological diagnosis of idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN), a common cause of ...

Polygonatum cyrtonema Polysaccharides‐Derived Metabolic Meta Alleviates ALD via a Gut–Liver Axis–Mediated, Bifidobacterium pseudolongum–Driven Suppression of the AA Metabolism–MAPK Signaling Network

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 4, July 2026.
This study demonstrates that the hepatoprotective effect of Polygonatum cyrtonema polysaccharide (PCP) is mediated by its gut microbiota‐derived metabolome, which enriches Bifidobacterium pseudolongum, suppresses the gut–liver axis of AA metabolism, and inhibits hepatic MAPK signaling. ABSTRACT Polygonatum cyrtonema, a traditional Chinese medicinal and

Fecal Proteomics Suggest Potential Biomarkers for Non‐Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Steatohepatitis

open access: yesPROTEOMICS – Clinical Applications, Volume 20, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and aims Non‐alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) affects about a quarter of the world's population. Liver biopsy remains the gold standard for diagnosing the progressive form of NAFLD called Non‐alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) but it is invasive, prone to sampling errors and observer variability, and impractical for widespread ...

Bioinformatics‐Driven Design and Evaluation of Recombinant Multi‐Epitope Immunogens Derived From Snake Venom Toxins as Potential Antivenom Candidates

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, Volume 94, Issue 7, Page 1403-1426, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Snakebite envenomation is a major public health concern, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income regions where access to safe and effective antivenoms is limited. Traditional antivenoms, derived from immunization with crude venom, often trigger adverse reactions and lack specificity against key venom components.

Correlation of peripheral PLA2R antibody, VASH-1, and Beclin-1 with disease severity and prognosis in primary membranous nephropathy

open access: yesLinchuang shenzangbing zazhi
ObjectiveTo investigate the relationships between peripheral blood phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) antibody, vasohibin-1 (VASH-1), and autophagy-related protein Beclin-1 and the clinical condition and prognosis of patients with primary membranous ...

A Case Report of Lupus Nephritis Initially Presenting As Membranous Nephropathy Treated With Sequential Obinutuzumab and Belimumab

open access: yesXiehe Yixue Zazhi
This article reports a case of an elderly male patient presenting with nephrotic syndrome. Renal biopsy pathology indicated membranous nephropathy, with both renal tissue staining for M-type phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) and serum anti-PLA2R ...

Lipid Dynamics in the Amyloid Cascade Hypothesis: Evaluating the Biological Relevance of In Vitro Models

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
This review reconsiders the amyloid cascade by placing lipid dynamics at its core. It shows that free lipids, governed by critical micellar concentration, act as pathological chaperones that redirect amyloid aggregation toward membrane‐damaging species.
