Macrolides and their role in the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia of various etiology

open access: yesМедицинский совет, 2015
The success of antibiotic therapy depends on the correct choice of antibiotic, timely administration, conditions of the host (patient) and microorganism (bacterial pathogen resistance to a drug), bioavailability and bioequivalence.

Exploring Patients’ Profiles Associated With the Resolution of Acute Calcium Pyrophosphate Arthritis Treated With Colchicine and Prednisone: Post Hoc Analysis of a Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The objective was to identify factors determining acute arthritis resolution and safety with colchicine and prednisone in acute calcium pyrophosphate (CPP) crystal arthritis. Methods We conducted a post hoc analysis of the COLCHICORT trial, which compared colchicine and prednisone for the treatment of acute CPP crystal arthritis, using a ...

Tailoring the Properties of Functional Materials With N‐Oxides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The properties of materials bearing N‐oxide groups are often dominated by the polar N+─O− bond. It provides hydrophilicity, selective ion‐binding, electric conductivity, or antifouling properties. Many of the underlying mechanisms have only recently been discovered, and the interest in N‐oxide materials is rapidly growing.

Impact of macrolide antibiotics on gut microbiota diversity with age-specific implications and scientific insights

open access: yesMedicine in Microecology
This review investigates the effects of macrolides on the gut microbiota across different age groups. Macrolides, widely used to treat various infections, have been shown to disrupt the gut microbiome, leading to reduced bacterial diversity and increased

New Bicyclic Azalide Macrolides Obtained by Tandem Palladium Catalyzed Allylic Alkylation/Conjugated Addition Reaction

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Unprecedented tandem allylic alkylation/intermolecular Michael addition was used in the preparation of novel bicyclic azalides. NMR spectroscopy was used not only to unambiguously determine and characterize the structures of these unexpected products of ...

DEL‐1 is an Endogenous Senolytic Protein that Inhibits Senescence‐Associated Bone Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Senescent bone marrow stromal cells accumulate in the aging bone microenvironment, promoting bone degeneration. DEL‐1, an endogenous secreted protein, acts as a natural senolytic that selectively eliminates these cells. By engaging a β3 integrin/CD73/adenosine/p38 MAPK/BCL‐2 pathway, DEL‐1 counters aging‐related bone loss, revealing promising ...

Macrolide and macrolide-related antibacterial agents

open access: yesFolia Pharmacologica Japonica, 2007
