Disulfide engineering of the FANCM–MHF complex reveals constraints on crosslink design in symmetric oligomers

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract The Fanconi anemia complementation group M protein (FANCM)–MHF complex is required for branched DNA recognition in the Fanconi anemia pathway, but structural analysis of the intact complex has been hindered by dissociation of FANCM from the FANCM‐associated histone fold (MHF) heterotetramer under crystallization conditions.

Cancer Vaccine Development: Toward Artificial Intelligence‐Assisted Personalized Cell Membrane Nanovaccine

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 49, 1 September 2026.
Cancer nanovaccines have emerged as promising alternatives to conventional cancer vaccines, which have shown limited clinical efficacy. In particular, cell membrane nanoparticle‐based nanovaccines can offer high biocompatibility and immunogenicity while preserving tumor antigens, including antigen repertoires.

Reversible Redox‐Responsive Peptide Condensates With RNA

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 16, 27 August 2026.
Here, we demonstrate a system derived from biologically relevant peptide and RNA oligomers, which form redox‐switchable condensates that are formed and dissolved via a cysteine handle on the peptide. While the amino acid cysteine is usually an “order promoting” amino acid, not normally found in disordered proteins which undergo phase separation ...
