Induction of apoptosis by ethanolic extract of mango peel and comparative analysis of the chemical constitutes of mango peel and flesh

Food Chemistry, 2012
The underlying mechanisms of the anticancer activity of the ethanolic extract of mango peel (EEMP) and its constituents were investigated. EEMP induced death of human cervical carcinoma HeLa cells through apoptosis, as evidenced by the increased cell population in the sub-G1 phase and the appearance of fragmented nuclei.

Microwave-assisted extraction of pectic polysaccharide from waste mango peel

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2015
This present study investigates the extraction characteristics and optimal parameters of the microwave-assisted extraction of pectin from waste mango peel (WMP). Microwave power, pH, time and solid-liquid ratio were selected as the extraction parameters and was studied by using Box-Behnken response surface design.

The peel and pulp of mango fruit: A proteomic samba

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Proteins and Proteomics, 2013
Combinatorial peptide ligand libraries (CPLLs) have been adopted for investigating the proteomes of mango peel and pulp as well their peptidome content (the latter as captured with a C18 resin). The aim of this study was not only to perform the deepest investigation so far of the mango proteome, but also to assess the potential presence of allergens ...

Effect of extraction conditions on some physicochemical characteristics of pectins from “Améliorée” and “Mango” mango peels

Food Hydrocolloids, 2008
The extraction of pectins from mango peels can offer a way to upgrade byproducts arising from the processing of these tropical fruits. In this work, several extraction conditions (HCl, or deionised water, or ammonium oxalate) were tested in order to isolate pectins from the peels of two mango varieties (Amelioree and Mango) harvested in Cameroon. After

Dye Extraction from Mango Peel and Dyeing of Cotton, CVC and Viscose Fabric Using Extracted Mango Peel Dye and Natural Mordant

International Journal of Textile Engineering and Management
Natural dyes are environmentally suitable due to their ecology, minimum impact on the environment and pollution. It can bea substitute of chemical dyes which have some serious concerns about the environmental impact. The objective of this studyis to extract natural dyes from mango peel and apply them on three different fabrics (cotton, Chief Value ...
