The chemotactic factor N-formylmethionyl-leucyl-phenylalanine activates microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP) kinase and a MAP kinase kinase in polymorphonuclear leucocytes [PDF]
Incubation of human polymorphonuclear leucocytes (PMN) with either the chemotactic factor N-formylmethionyl-leucylphenylalanine (FMLP) or phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) activates a kinase with phosphorylating activity towards a known microtubule-associated protein-2 (MAP) kinase substrate, the epidermal growth factor receptor peptide (T669 ...

p38 regulates the tumor suppressor PDCD4 via the TSC-mTORC1 pathway
Programmed cell death protein 4 (PDCD4) exerts critical functions as tumor suppressor and in immune cells to regulate inflammatory pro-cesses. The phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) promotes degradation of PDCD4 via mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1 (

Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase kinase 2 (CAMKK2) is a serine/threonine-protein kinase belonging to the Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase subfamily. CAMKK2 has an autocatalytic site, which gets exposed when Ca2+/calmodulin (CAM) binds to it. This results in autophosphorylation and complete activation of CAMKK2.

Tryptase activation of immortalized human urothelial cell mitogen-activated protein kinase. [PDF]
The pathogenesis of interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome (IC/PBS) is multifactorial, but likely involves urothelial cell dysfunction and mast cell accumulation in the bladder wall.
