Immunological and Viral Profiles of Squamous Cell Carcinoma in Transplant and Non‐Transplant Patients in Singapore

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) exhibits a pro‐tumorigenic immune environment, increased oncologic signalling, and tumour remodelling, with three immune subgroups from ‘cold’ to ‘hot’. Organ transplant recipients (OTR) with cSCC showed reduced T‐cells and greater viral enrichment, especially HPV, and a higher disease burden.

Atopic Comorbidities Associated With Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria: A Case‐Control Analysis of the All of Us Research Program

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is a mast cell‐driven condition defined by recurrent wheals and/or angioedema lasting over 6 weeks without an identifiable trigger. Though CSU is known to co‐occur with atopic diseases and share Th2‐dominant immunologic pathways, prior studies have not adequately addressed these relationships in ...

GLIS2 Promotes Epithelial‐Mesenchymal Transition and Gastric Cancer Progression by Regulating BGN to Activate the Wnt/β‐Catenin Pathway

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study elucidates the mechanism by which GLIS Family Zinc Finger 2 (GLIS2) promotes epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in gastric cancer through biglycan (BGN) activation and Wnt/β‐catenin stimulation. By analyzing 18 pairs of GC tissues and establishing in vitro models (combining GLIS2 knockdown/BGN overexpression with Wnt pathway ...

In Vitro Evaluation of the Inhibitory Effects of Linarin on Histamine‐Induced Expression of Proinflammatory Cytokines, Mucin 5AC, and Aquaporin 5 in Human Nasal and Bronchial Epithelial Cells

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Allergic rhinitis and asthma are two prevalent chronic allergic conditions in children. Linarin, a glycosylated flavonoid derived from various plants, exhibits a wide range of biological activities. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic potential of linarin against allergic rhinitis and asthma.

A novel artificial intelligence–powered cell counting tool coupled with digital microscopy for rapid field‐assessment of harmful cyanobacterial blooms

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Historical quantification of cyanobacterial harmful algal blooms (cHABs) typically involved labor‐intensive manual cell counting. We developed a novel, cost‐effective, field‐validated system to perform cell counts of six common toxin‐producing cyanobacterial genera within 30 s of upload with 10‐min sample preparation.
