Nuclear Pore Mechanotransduction in Oncology: A Structural Axis of Vulnerability for Targeted Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Cancer‐associated NPC remodeling creates a high‐flux, low‐stringency nuclear state that supports malignant adaptation but increases mechanical fragility. Targeting the FG‐barrier or NPC scaffold may drive mechanostat failure, envelope rupture, DNA damage, and loss of nuclear integrity.

Broad‐Spectrum, Cell Envelope‐Active Marinocyclin Antibiotics From a Coral‐Derived Bacterium Are Effective Against Colistin‐Resistant Bacteria

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Marinocyclins, polycationic macrocyclic depsipeptides, were discovered by genome mining from the marine coral‐derived bacterium Aquimarina megaterium. The compounds have broad‐spectrum activity against gram‐positive and gram‐negative ESKAPE bacteria.

High Prevalence of Colistin-Resistant Encoding Genes Carriage among Patients and Healthy Residents in Vietnam

open access: yesMedicina
Background and Objectives: We aimed to investigate the carriage of colistin-resistant genes among both patients with a history of antibiotic exposure and apparently healthy adults with no recent healthcare contact. Materials and Methods: Stool swabs were

Emergence and Transmission of Plasmid-Mediated Mobile Colistin Resistance Gene mcr-10 in Humans and Companion Animals

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2022
Mobile colistin resistance (mcr) genes mediated by plasmids have widely disseminated throughout the world. Recently, 10 mcr genes (mcr-1 to mcr-10) and a large number of variants have been identified in more than 60 countries.

Identification of an Osteochondral Erosion Process in Gout Driven by Fibrinogen‐Integrin Activation and Local MSU Crystallization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cartilage injury promotes local fibrinogen deposition, which accelerates monosodium urate crystallization and activates integrin‐mediated matrix‐degradation. This self‐amplifying cycle drives gout‐related cartilage erosion. Disrupting fibrinogen deposition or restoring the cartilage barrier could interrupt this vicious cycle.

Global Distribution of mcr Gene Variants in 214K Metagenomic Samples

open access: yesmSystems, 2022
The ever-growing collection of metagenomic samples available in public data repositories has the potential to reveal new details on the emergence and dissemination of mobilized colistin resistance genes. Our analysis of metagenomes deposited online in the last 10 years shows that the environmental distribution of mcr

First report of multidrug-resistant carbapenemase-producing Aeromonas caviae co-harboring mcr-3.43 and mcr-7.2

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum
Hospital sewage serves as a crucial reservoir for antibiotic resistance genes. As colistin and carbapenems are the last-resort antibiotics, the emergence of their resistance genes has become a significant concern in clinical settings.

Bioengineered Exosome‐Loaded Immunomodulatory Bioadhesive Spray Reverses Liver Fibrosis and Metabolic Dysfunction That Triggers Beneficial Gut‐Liver Crosstalk in Chronic Fatty Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Umbilical cord stem cell‐derived exosomes encapsulated in an immunomodulatory bioadhesive hydrogel spray enable localized therapy, sustained vesicle delivery, macrophage polarization, suppress systemic inflammation, and mitigate glucose and insulin homeostasis impairments in MAFLD.

A Multiplex SYBR Green Real-Time PCR Assay for the Detection of Three Colistin Resistance Genes from Cultured Bacteria, Feces, and Environment Samples

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2017
The aim of the study was to develop a multiplex assay for rapid detection of mcr-1, mcr-2, and mcr-3, a group of genes of conferring resistance to colistin mediated by plasmid in Enterobacteriaceae.

Matrix Stiffness Enhances Odontogenic Differentiation of DPSCs through Membrane Curvature Protein Baiap2‐Modulated Exosome Release

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Matrix stiffness softening is identified as a previously underappreciated feature in deep caries. Higher stiffness drives exosome release in dental pulp stem cells through a coordinated mechanism involving PI3K–AKT‐regulated Baiap2 and kinesin‐1, thereby promoting odontogenic differentiation.
