Epimerization of Yahazunol-Related Meroterpenoids for Antifungal Leads

Journal of Natural Products
We herein disclose that the epimerization of yahazunol can lead to an antifungal enhancement. Yahazunol-related drimane meroterpenoids and pseudonatural mimics were synthesized based on an improved synthesis of 9-epi-borono-sclareolide and the concomitant Suzuki coupling. Several 9-epi-drimane meroterpenoids presented antifungal activity.

Two Cytochrome P450 Enzymes Form the Tricyclic Nested Skeleton of Meroterpenoids by Sequential Oxidative Reactions.

Journal of the American Chemical Society
Meroterpenoid clavilactones feature a unique benzo-fused ten-membered carbocyclic ring unit with an α,β-epoxy-γ-lactone moiety, forming an intriguing 10/5/3 tricyclic nested skeleton. These compounds are good inhibitors of the tyrosine kinase, attracting

Microbe Engineering to Provide Drimane-Type Building Blocks for Chiral Pool Synthesis of Meroterpenoids.

Angewandte Chemie
Drimane-type merosesquiterpenoids (DMT) are a class of natural products with diverse structures and broad biological activity. Classical DMT synthesis relies on atom-inefficient plant-derived chiral pool building blocks, while alternative drimane-type ...
