The immuneregulator role of neprilysin (NEP) in invertebrates [PDF]
Neprilysin (NEP) represents an important enzyme in both vertebrates and invertebrates. In the present report we have focused our attention to invertebrates. In particular, a structure related to CD10/NEP as well as its activity in different tissues, such

This study presents a 3D lymphoid tissue model engineered from adipose‐derived stem cells differentiated into fibroblastic reticular cell–like networks and co‐cultured with immune cells. The engineered system successfully generates antigen‐specific antibodies and cytokine responses, providing a platform for studying adaptive immunity, vaccine efficacy,

Elevated hepatocyte paraffin 1 and neprilysin expression in hepatocellular carcinoma are correlated with longer survival [PDF]
Hepatocyte paraffin 1 (Hep Par 1) and neprilysin (CD10) are well-known markers of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). To assess their potential prognostic role, we conducted a retrospective analysis of 97 formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded HCC from ...

The Secretome of Human Trophoblast Stem Cells Attenuates Senescence‐Associated Traits
Human trophoblast stem cell‐derived secretome/conditioned medium (hTSC‐CM) and the extracellular vesicles (EVs) therein suppress DNA damage and NF‐κB activation in senescent fibroblasts, in turn reducing the production of senescence‐associated secretory phenotype (SASP) factors. This study highlights hTSC‐CM and EVs as potential senotherapeutic agents.

Young multipotent muscle‐derived stem/progenitor cells (MDSPCs) secrete a unique profile of pro‐angiogenic and immunomodulatory proteins that are diminished with age. Systemic transplantation of young MDSPCs into naturally aged mice activates pathways in neuromuscular tissues, enhancing health and driving molecular, structural, and functional ...

ABSTRACT The typical pathology of pulmonary hypertension (PH) is characterized by pulmonary vasoconstriction and irreversible pulmonary vascular remodeling. Vascular remodeling is the process of structural changes and cellular rearrangement of blood vessels due to injury and is a significant factor in conditions such as PH.

Two α subunits and one β subunit of meprin zinc-endopeptidases are differentially expressed in the zebrafish Danio rerio [PDF]
Meprins are members of the astacin family of metalloproteases expressed in epithelial tissues, intestinal leukocytes and certain cancer cells. In mammals, there are two homologous subunits, which form complex glycosylated disulfide-bonded homo- and ...

Overexpression of matrix metalloproteinase 9 in tumor epithelial cells correlates with colorectal cancer metastasis. [PDF]
Colorectal cancer mortality largely reflects metastasis, the spread of the disease to distant organs. Matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) is a key regulator of metastasis and a target for anticancer strategies in colon cancer.

ABSTRACT Aim Genetic connectivity and local adaptation were examined across the distribution of the freshwater sponge Ephydatia muelleri. Because it occupies an exceptional breadth of freshwater environments across a broad geographic range, this species offers key insights into biogeographic processes shaping genetic structure and adaptation in inland ...
