The Homeobox Genes: Classification, Regulation, Biological Functions, and Diseases

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
Overview of the homeobox gene superfamily and its pathophysiological roles. The homeobox superfamily comprises several major classes, including ANTP, PRD, TALE, LIM, POU, and others. Among these, the HOX clusters (A–D) play critical roles in embryonic development specifically in conferring cellular identity, regulating morphogenesis, and guiding axial ...

Nitride‐Reinforced Metal Matrix Nanocomposite Powders Production by Plasma‐Assisted Thermochemical Treatment of Intermetallic Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 5, 4 March 2026.
This study proposes a new methodology for producing metal matrix nanocomposites in the solid state. The process involves the plasma‐assisted thermochemical treatment of metallic alloy powders. As a proof‐of‐concept, TiN nanoparticles are synthesized directly on the surface of FeTi intermetallic powder particles, enabling the development of the ...

Composition and Resulting Band Alignment at the TiO2/InP Heterointerface: A Fundamental Study Combining Photoemission Spectroscopy and Theory

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 21, 12 March 2026.
The chemical composition and band alignment are systematically investigated at the TiO2/InP heterointerface. Thin TiO2 films are deposited by ALD on atomically ordered, P‐terminated p‐InP(100). By combining UPS, XPS, and ab initio molecular dynamics, the atomistic structure and electronic alignment are revealed.

Effects of miR-1236-3p and miR-370-5p on activation of p21 in various tumors and its inhibition on the growth of lung cancer cells

open access: yesTumor Biology, 2017
The mechanism of dsRNA-induced gene activation (RNAa) is being gradually unveiled. The plentiful evidence that it existed in mammalian species other than human demonstrated that dsRNA-mediated RNAa is a conservative phenomenon.

Gut Microbiota‐Non‐Coding RNA Axis in Immune Modulation and Disease: From Mechanisms to Clinical Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 16, 18 March 2026.
ABSTRACT Immune homeostasis is indispensable for preserving organismal integrity, orchestrated through complex molecular networks encompassing immune cell dynamics, microbial cues, and epigenetic regulation. Among these, the gut microbiota‐non‐coding RNA (ncRNA) axis has recently garnered substantial attention as a multifaceted modulator of host ...

LncRNA BCYRN1/miR-490-3p/POU3F2, served as a ceRNA network, is connected with worse survival rate of hepatocellular carcinoma patients and promotes tumor cell growth and metastasis

open access: yesCancer Cell International, 2020
s Backgrounds LncRNA Brain Cytoplasmic RNA 1 (BCYRN1) has been certified to modulate cancer cells growth and aggressiveness in several tumors. However, research about function of BCYRN1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is limited.

Chemical Doping Engineering of Polarization and Topological Textures in van der Waals Ferroelectric CuInP2S6

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 16, 18 March 2026.
Our work reports that Li⁺ doping in CuInP2S₆ induces coexistence of high‐ and low‐polarization states, which fosters a rich spectrum of topological polar textures, such as bubbles and labyrinth domains. An unconventional flexoelectric effect is also discovered, where strain gradients can mechanically manipulate these polarization states and their ...

Band‐Edge Engineering of BiFeO3–KTaO3 Solid Solutions toward Efficient Solar Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
This study reports BiFeO3–KTaO3 solid solutions as efficient photocathodes for solar hydrogen production. Combining experiments with density functional theory, the authors demonstrate composition‐driven band‐edge tuning, achieving high photocurrent density and hydrogen generation rates.

Targeting Microbiome Metabolites: Reshaping Immunotherapy and Clinical Management Strategies for Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesiMetaMed, Volume 2, Issue 1, March 2026.
The occurrence and progression of colorectal cancer are intricately linked to metabolites produced by the gut microbiota. Metabolites generated by pathogenic microbial communities can promote colorectal cancer development by reshaping the immune microenvironment.

Circ_0020887 Silencing Combats Hypoxic-Induced Cardiomyocyte Injury in an MiR-370-3p/CYP1B1-Dependent Manner

open access: yesInternational Heart Journal
Targeting circular RNA has been a novel approach to preventing and limiting acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Here, we planned to investigate the role and mechanism of circ_0020887 in AMI progression.Hypoxic injury in human cardiomyocytes (AC16) was measured using cell counting kit-8 assay, 5-ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine assay, flow cytometry, and ...
