MicroRNA‐661 modulates redox and metabolic homeostasis in colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 11, Issue 12, Page 1768-1787, December 2017., 2017
miR661 modulates redox homeostasis and metabolism in colon cancer. More specifically, miR661 decreases the pentose phosphate pathway and carbohydrate metabolism, which leads to a diminished tolerance to metabolic stress. This phenotype seems to be partially associated to a reduction of H6PD and PKM2.

Multiversion Document Warehouse: An Approach to Multidimensional Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Intelligence Studies in Business, 2012
Document warehouses allow the storage of selected and filtered heterogeneous documents, as well as their exploitation through multidimensional analyses techniques. However, the content of documents is dynamic and changes over time.

Diagnostic Potential of miR-126, miR-143, miR-145, and miR-652 in Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Molecular Diagnostics, 2014
Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is difficult to distinguish from reactive mesothelial proliferations (RMPs). It is uncertain whether miRNAs are useful biomarkers for differentiating MPM from RMPs. Thus, we screened with a quantitative RT-PCR (RT-qPCR)-based platform the expression of 742 miRNAs in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded, preoperative ...

Serum miR‐224, miR‐760, miR‐483‐5p, miR‐378 and miR‐375 as potential novel biomarkers in rheumatoid arthritis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Clinical Practice, 2021
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an inflammatory autoimmune disease which affects various tissues and organs mainly joints. Serum microRNAs are considered a new class of non-coding RNA which plays a vital role in pathogenesis of RA.The current study was conducted on 80 RA patients and 80 healthy participants.

Neutrophil microRNAs

open access: yesBiological Reviews, Volume 99, Issue 3, Page 864-877, June 2024.
ABSTRACT Neutrophils are considered ‘first‐line defence’ cells as they can be rapidly recruited to the site of the immune response. As key components of non‐specific immune mechanisms, neutrophils use phagocytosis, degranulation, and formation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) to fight pathogens.

Automized inline monitoring in perfused mammalian cell culture by MIR spectroscopy without calibration model building

open access: yesEngineering in Life Sciences, Volume 24, Issue 3, March 2024.
Abstract Process Analytical Technologies (PATs) are taking a key role in the run for automatization in the biopharmaceutical industry. Spectroscopic methods such as Raman spectroscopy or mid‐infrared (MIR) spectroscopy are getting more recognition in the recent years for inline monitoring of bioprocesses due to their ability to measure various ...

The clinical significance of circulating miR-21, miR-142, miR-143, and miR-146a in patients with prostate cancer

open access: yesJournal of Medical Biochemistry, 2022
Background: Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most common type of solid tissue cancer among men in western countries. In this study, we determined the levels of circulating miR-21, miR-142, miR-143, miR-146a, and RNU 44 levels as controls for early diagnosis of PCa.

Microvesicle-associated and circulating microRNAs in diabetic dyslipidemia: miR-218, miR-132, miR-143, and miR-21, miR-122, miR-155 have biomarker potential

open access: yesCardiovascular Diabetology, 2023
Abstract Background Circulating MicroRNAs (miRNAs) carried by microvesicles (MVs) have various physiological and pathological functions by post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression being considered markers for many diseases including diabetes and dyslipidemia.
