Mitotic spindle: Focus on the function of huntingtin
The International Journal of Biochemistry & Cell Biology, 2011Mitotic spindle assembly and orientation are tightly regulated to allow the appropriate segregation of genetic material and cell fate determinants during symmetric and asymmetric divisions. Microtubules and many proteins including the dynein/dynactin complex and the large nuclear mitotic apparatus NuMA protein, are fundamental players in these ...

Mitotic spindle pole separation
Trends in Cell Biology, 1993Eukaryotic cells utilize a microtubular spindle to segregate chromosomes during mitosis. Chromosome segregation requires the timely separation of the mitotic spindle poles to which the chromosomes are attached. Recent studies at the molecular and cellular levels have provided new insights into the mechanism and regulation of this process.

Mitotic Spindle Dynamics in Drosophila
2007Mitosis, the process by which the replicated chromosomes are segregated equally into daughter cells, has been studied for over a century. Drosophila melanogaster is an ideal organism for this research. Drosophila embryos are well suited to image mitosis, because during cycles 10-13 nuclei divide rapidly at the surface of the embryo, but mitotic cells ...
