Creep and tensile behaviour of austenitic Fe–Cr–Ni stainless steels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The control of creep behaviour during service of reformer tubes made of HP-40 austenitic stainless steels is still limited by the knowledge of creep mechanisms in these alloys.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Influence of Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide Content in Modified Atmosphere Packaging on the Colour and Water-Holding Capacity of Pork Loin

open access: yesApplied Sciences
During storage, raw meat is exposed to many external factors, which cause visible changes on the surface of the meat and which affect its water-holding capacity. This study aimed to determine the effect of oxygen content in modified atmosphere packaging (

Effects of engine emissions from high-speed civil transport aircraft: A two-dimensional modeling study, part 2 [PDF]

open access: yes
The AER two-dimensional chemistry-transport model is used to study the effect of supersonic and subsonic aircraft operation in the 2010 atmosphere on stratospheric ozone (O3).

Longitudinal profiles of Extensive Air Showers with inclusion of charm and bottom particles

open access: yes, 2019
Charm and bottom particles are rare in Extensive Air Showers but the effect of its presence can be radical in the development of the Extensive Air Showers (EAS).

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...

Light lamb meat quality packed under modified atmospheres: effect of stunning systems (electrically v. gas)

open access: yesAnimal, 2009
In the present study, the effect of type of stunning (electrical v. gas) and the gas mixtures in a modified atmosphere (MA) packing system (MA-A: 30% CO2 + 70% O2; MA-B: 30% CO2 + 69.3% N2 + 0.7% CO; MA-C: 40% CO2 + 60% N2) on light lamb meat quality ...

Gas and surface diffusion in modified γ-alumina systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
The transport of pure gases through a microporous membrane is described. The alumina-based membrane (pores 2.5-4 nm) is suitable for Knudsen diffusion separation.

Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.
