Dopamine-dependent responses to morphine depend on glucocorticoid receptors [PDF]
Previous work has shown that glucocorticoid hormones facilitate the behavioral and dopaminergic effects of morphine. In this study we examined the possible role in these effects of the two central corticosteroid receptor types: mineralocorticoid receptor (MR), and glucocorticoid receptor (GR).

Rat brain proteome in morphine dependence
The aim of this study was to reveal potential markers associated with drug dependence, using the proteomic approach. Gels containing samples derived from morphine-treated and control animals were compared and analyzed. Inspection of protein profiles, following TCA/acetone precipitation and the use of nano-scale liquid chromatography coupled to tandem ...

Morphine activates neuroinflammation in a manner parallel to endotoxin [PDF]
Opioids create a neuroinflammatory response within the CNS, compromising opioid-induced analgesia and contributing to various unwanted actions. How this occurs is unknown but has been assumed to be via classic opioid receptors.
