Abstract figure legend A study described in this paper describes a new tool for hiPSC‐CM electromechanical behaviour simulations using mathematical modelling. The model enables in silico assays making drug testing quick, comprehensive and accurate. New hiPSC‐CM models can be used as a platform to integrate in vitro and in silico findings.

Distribution of Muscarinic Acethylcholine Receptors and Related Signal [PDF]
Muscarinic receptors are members of G protein coupled receptor family. Molecularcloning studies indicate five intronless genes that encode five muscarinic receptorglycoproteins.

Agonist-selective activation of individual G-proteins by muscarinic receptors
Selective activation of individual subtypes of muscarinic receptors is a promising way to safely alleviate a wide range of pathological conditions in the central nervous system and the periphery as well.

Membrane potential controls the response of the M2 muscarinic receptor to its ligands. Membrane hyperpolarization increases response to the full agonist acetylcholine (ACh) while decreasing response to the partial agonist pilocarpine.

We investigated early neuronal development using iPSCs from twins with treatment‐resistant schizophrenia discordant for clozapine response. The non‐responder exhibited more pronounced impairment in differentiation than the responder. Transcriptomic analysis revealed distinct developmental gene expression profiles, suggesting that early ...

Abnormal extracellular ATP levels cause lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). Here, we demonstrate that overexpression of ENTPD1 (CD39TG)—an ATP/ADP converting enzyme—reduces voiding frequency while increasing void volume. Conversely, ENTPD1 deficiency results in frequent, small‐volume voiding.

Is muscarinic receptor agonist effective and tolerant for schizophrenia?
Background Several randomized clinical trials (RCTs) have recently examined the efficacy and tolerability of muscarinic receptor agonists in schizophrenia. However, whether therapeutics targeting muscarinic receptors improve symptom management and reduce

Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) effects span central and peripheral organ systems through diverse mechanistic pathways. This comprehensive review provides a unified synthesis of these mechanisms across neurological, cardiovascular, immunological, metabolic, and gastrointestinal domains, filling a critical gap and serving as a foundational resource for ...

ABSTRACT Objectives Conventional antispasmodics used during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), such as hyoscine butylbromide and glucagon, are often contraindicated in elderly patients with comorbidities. This trial aimed to assess the efficacy of lidocaine for inhibiting duodenal peristalsis during ERCP.

Axon Initial Segment: Structure, Biological Functions, Diseases, and Therapeutic Targets
The axon initial segment (AIS) is a specialized axonal domain critical for maintaining neuronal polarity, action potential initiation, and network stability. This review summarizes the necessary elements for maintaining AIS structure and plasticity, discussing crucial biological functions of AIS in neuronal signaling and the neural circuit homeostasis,
