Dual Role of Tamoxifen in Enhancing STING and CEACAM1 Expression to Prime a Favorable Tumor Microenvironment for Anti‐TIM3 Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade has revolutionized cancer immunotherapy, but is ineffective against endocrine‐treated (i.e., Tamoxifen), relapsed ER+ breast cancer (BC) patients. This study provides insight into the sub‐optimal response of ER+BCs to anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade – highlighting the induction of STING and the CEACAM1/TIM3 axis after chronic ...

Coixenolide Enhances Antitumor Immunity of Cytotoxic CD8+ T Cells by Inhibiting S100A8/A9‐CD36 Axis in Obesity‐Associated Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD) remains highly lethal with limited treatment options. This study demonstrates that coixenolide, a bioactive compound from Coix lacryma‐jobi L. and a key component of the clinically approved Kanglaite injection, exhibits enhanced antitumor efficacy in high‐fat diet (HFD)‐induced obese mice bearing PAAD tumors compared to

Rab1A Promotes Hepatic Steatosis by Suppressing Mitophagy via the Raf‐1/ERK1/2/PINK1 Signaling Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Why does fat accumulate in the liver? Our study reveals Rab1A as the molecular switch that silences the cell's mitochondrial cleanup crew. Turning Rab1A off reactivates mitophagy, clears excess fat, and reverses fatty liver disease in mice—offering a promising new therapeutic target for MASLD, a growing global health challenge.

Therapeutic targeting of myeloid-derived suppressor cells.

open access: yes, 2009
Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) represent a subset of myeloid cells that expand under pathological conditions, such as cancer development, acute and chronic infections, trauma, bone marrow transplantations, and some autoimmune diseases.

The immunobiology of myeloid-derived suppressor cells in cancer

open access: yesTumor Biology, 2015
The tumor microenvironment is a complex and heterogeneous milieu in which multiple interactions occur between tumor and host cells. Immunosuppressive cells which are present in this microenvironment, such as regulatory T (Treg) cells and myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs), play an important role in tumor progression, via down-regulation of ...

Innate Immunocompetent hiPSC‐Derived Neurospheroids Capture Early CNS Responses to rAAV

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Knowledge of human CNS immune responses to AAV‐based gene therapies remains limited due to the lack of immune‐competent human models. Here, a hiPSC‐derived 3D neuroimmune platform integrating neurospheroids and microglia is established using stirred‐tank bioreactors.

Monocytic Myeloid-Derived Suppressor Cells in Chronic Infections

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2018
Heterogeneous populations of myeloid regulatory cells (MRC), including monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and neutrophils, are found in cancer and infectious diseases.

Myeloid-Derived Suppressor Cells and Therapeutic Strategies in Cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Development of solid cancer depends on escape from host immunosurveillance. Various types of immune cells contribute to tumor-induced immune suppression, including tumor associated macrophages, regulatory T cells, type 2 NKT cells, and myeloid-derived ...
