Plasticity of myeloid-derived suppressor cells in cancer
In recent years, myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) have emerged as one of the major inhibitors of immune effector cell function in cancer. MDSC represent a heterogeneous population of largely immature myeloid cells that are characterized by a pathological state of activation and display potent immune suppressive activity.

Prostate cancer is immunologically ‘cold’, with scarce, dysfunctional type 1 conventional dendritic cells (cDC1s) that limit T cell priming. We introduce an aptamer‐targeted liposomedelivering FMS‐like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (Flt3L) and chlorin e6 (Ce6). Ultrasound induces antigen release and cDC1s recruitment, creating an in situ cDC1 vaccine.

The Yin and Yang of Myeloid Derived Suppressor Cells
In recent years, most of our knowledge about myeloid derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) has come from cancer studies, which depicts Yin side of MDSCs. In cancer, inherent immunosuppressive action of MDSCs favors tumor progression by inhibiting antitumor ...

Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) show promise for treating immune‐related disorders through immunomodulation and tissue regeneration. This review gives a brief overview of current clinical approval of MSC therapies. It also discussed how bioengineering, including genetic modification, biomaterial delivery, extracellular vesicles, and iPSC‐derived MSCs,

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is the most common acute leukemia amongst adults with a 5-year overall survival lower than 30%. Emerging evidence suggest that immune alterations favor leukemogenesis and/or AML relapse thereby negatively impacting disease ...

Molecular editing of bilobalide uncovers BB56, a PREP‐engaging chemotype with enhanced anti‐inflammatory activity in microglia. Integrated CETSA‐MS, SAR, and pathway analyses link BB56 to attenuation of p38 MAPK/NF‐κB and NLRP3‐associated inflammatory signaling, highlighting bilobalide editing as a strategy for developing neuroinflammation‐modulating ...

The role of myeloid-derived suppressor cells in children
Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) were first recognized over twenty years ago as a key immunomodulatory cell population. Since their initial identification, a growing body of literature points to the importance of MDSC as a heterogeneous, immunosuppressive cell population and as a therapeutic target in adults with cancer.

Early Retinal UCHL1 Dysregulation Coupled With Synaptic Loss Reflects Alzheimer's Disease Severity
This study identifies synapse‐enriched deubiquitinase UCHL1 as an early Aβ‐responsive regulator of retinal synaptopathy in Alzheimer's disease. Retinal UCHL1 loss accompanies excitatory synapse degeneration, p75NTR activation, and neuroinflammation, and predicts Braak stage and cognitive decline. Aβ42 fibrils trigger synaptic and UCHL1 depletion before

VEGFR‐2 signaling in OSCC activates Src–STAT6‐dependent CSF2 transcription, driving tumor‐derived GM‐CSF secretion. GM‐CSF programs neutrophils to express PD‐L1 through STAT5–mTOR/S6K signaling, suppressing cytotoxic CD8+ T cells. This pathway reveals a tumor–neutrophil immune checkpoint circuit that limits anti‐PD‐1 responsiveness in OSCC.
