Borax-Loaded PLLA for Promotion of Myogenic Differentiation
Tissue Engineering Part A, 2015Boron is an essential metalloid, which plays a key role in plant and animal metabolisms. It has been reported that boron is involved in bone mineralization, has some uses in synthetic chemistry, and its potential has been only recently exploited in medicinal chemistry.

Myogenic Differentiation of Mytilus Larval Cellsin vitro
Russian Journal of Developmental Biology, 2001A myogenic differentiation program can be realized during the cultivation of Mytilus trossulus cells derived from larvae in premyogenic developmental stages. About 10-15% of cells in such cultures showed that they are capable of contracting actively. The shape of such cells and the high concentration of actin microfilaments indicate a similarity with ...

Jun inhibits myogenic differentiation.
Oncogene, 1991Myoblasts from skeletal muscle of chicken or Japanese quail embryos were infected with avian sarcoma virus 17 (ASV-17), a retrovirus carrying the jun oncogene. At high multiplicities of infection ASV-17-induced morphologic transformation inhibited fusion of myoblasts into myotubes and stimulated extended replication.
