Systemic aging fuels heart failure: Molecular mechanisms and therapeutic avenues

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1059-1080, April 2025.
Abstract Systemic aging influences various physiological processes and contributes to structural and functional decline in cardiac tissue. These alterations include an increased incidence of left ventricular hypertrophy, a decline in left ventricular diastolic function, left atrial dilation, atrial fibrillation, myocardial fibrosis and cardiac ...

Synthesis of DNA Building Blocks With Aminonaphthalimides and Cyanovinylenes as Uncharged Fluorophores: Fluorescent Readout From Turn‐On to Red‐Shift

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
DNA architectures with aminonaphthalimides and cyanovinylenes as base surrogates form interstrand and intrastrand dimers showed that can be used as nucleic acid‐sensitive probes by their fluorescence turn‐on and red‐shift as readouts. The fluorescence turn‐on was tested by probing N6‐methyl‐2’‐deoxyadenosine (m6A) in DNA.

Table_1_Identification of N6-Methyladenosine-Related lncRNAs as a Prognostic Signature in Glioma.docx

open access: yes, 2022
N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification is the most abundant modification in long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs). Current studies have shown that the abnormal expression of m6A-related genes is closely associated with the tumorigenesis and progression of glioma.

Epigenetic Regulation in the Pathogenesis of Renal Inflammation: Insights and Therapeutic Potentials

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Renal inflammation is a common pathological process in various kidney diseases, often initiated by factors such as toxins, ischemia, or autoimmune reactions. This inflammatory response can result in structural damage and a rapid decline in renal function.

Noncanonical Nucleotides in the Genome Around the Maternal‐Zygotic Transition

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Zoology Part B: Molecular and Developmental Evolution, EarlyView.
In this paper, Kazzazi et al. provide a comprehensive review of the dynamics of nonconventional nucleotides in the genome during early developmental stages, hypothesizing a potential role for these nucleotides in the activation of the zygotic genome. ABSTRACT From the very moment of fertilization and throughout development, the cells of animal embryos ...

N6-methyladenosine modification of circNSUN2 facilitates cytoplasmic export and stabilizes HMGA2 to promote colorectal liver metastasis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been implicated in cancer progression through largely unknown mechanisms. Herein, we identify an N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modified circRNA, circNSUN2, frequently upregulated in tumor tissues and serum samples from colorectal
