Influence of taurolithocholate 3-sulphate on calcium content in cytosol and store of isolated mice hepatocytes

open access: yesБіологічні студії, 2015
Momohydroxylated bile acids, including taurolitocholate (TLC) and its 3-sulphate (TLC-S), have been shown to increase [Ca2+]i in cytosol of rat hepatocytes [1, 2].

Evoked Weibel‐Palade Body Exocytosis Modifies the Endothelial Cell Surface by Releasing a Substrate‐Selective Phosphodiesterase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 11, Issue 16, April 24, 2024.
Weibel‐Palade bodies (WPB) are unique secretory organelles of endothelial cells. A new WPB constituent is identified, the glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase domain‐containing protein 5 (GDPD5) and it is shown that GDPD5 is released to the cell surface upon stimulation of WPB exocytosis.

25 Years of Collaboration with A Genius: Deciphering Adenine Nucleotide Ca2+ Mobilizing Second Messengers Together with Professor Barry Potter

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Ca2+-mobilizing adenine nucleotide second messengers cyclic adenosine diphosphoribose, (cADPR), nicotinic acid adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NAADP), adenosine diphosphoribose (ADPR), and 2′deoxy-ADPR were discovered since the late 1980s.

Endolysosomal two‐pore channel 2 plays opposing roles in primary and metastatic malignant melanoma cells

open access: yesCell Biology International, Volume 48, Issue 4, Page 521-540, April 2024.
Abstract The ion channel two‐pore channel 2 (TPC2), localised on the membranes of acidic organelles such as endo‐lysosomes and melanosomes, has been shown to play a role in pathologies including cancer, and it is differently expressed in primary versus metastatic melanoma cells.

Inhibition of lysosomal Ca2+ signalling disrupts dendritic spine structure and impairs wound healing in neurons

open access: yesCommunicative & Integrative Biology, 2017
A growing body of evidence suggests that lysosomes, which have traditionally been regarded as degradative organelles, can function as Ca2+ stores, regulated by the second messenger nicotinic acid adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NAADP).

Cytoplasmic nanojunctions between lysosomes and sarcoplasmic reticulum are required for specific calcium signaling [v1; ref status: indexed, http://f1000r.es/32q]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2014
Herein we demonstrate how nanojunctions between lysosomes and sarcoplasmic reticulum (L-SR junctions) serve to couple lysosomal activation to regenerative, ryanodine receptor-mediated cellular Ca2+ waves.

Two-pore channel-2 and inositol trisphosphate receptors coordinate Ca2+ signals between lysosomes and the endoplasmic reticulum

open access: yesCell Reports
Summary: Lysosomes and the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) are Ca2+ stores mobilized by the second messengers NAADP and IP3, respectively. Here, we establish Ca2+ signals between the two sources as fundamental building blocks that couple local release to ...

OCaR1 endows exocytic vesicles with autoregulatory competence by preventing uncontrolled Ca2+ release, exocytosis, and pancreatic tissue damage

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Investigation
Regulated exocytosis is initiated by increased Ca2+ concentrations in close spatial proximity to secretory granules, which is effectively prevented when the cell is at rest. Here we showed that exocytosis of zymogen granules in acinar cells was driven by
