NADK is Activated by Oncogenic KRAS Signaling to Sustain Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma
Metabolic adaptations and the signaling events that control them have been implicated in the adaptation of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) to survive stresses associated with nutrient and oxygen deprivation at the tumor site. Recently, rewiring of NADPH production has been shown to play a key role in this process.

Palmitoylation-dependent activation of NADK promotes NADP + synthesis and tumorigenesis [PDF]
Abstract NAD kinase (NADK) is the sole cytosolic enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP+) from NAD+. NADP+ is essential for anabolic reactions and redox balance. Here, we show that palmitate facilitates NADP+ synthesis by enhancing NADK palmitoylation and activity.

Function of Pseudomonas fluorescens L5.1-96 proteins MPPE and NADK in wheat root colonization
Pseudomonas fluorescens strain L5.1-96 is exceptional at colonizing wheat roots and resisting desiccation, both characteristics valuable to combatting Take-All disease, a devastating wheat root disease caused by the fungal pathogen Gaeumannomyces graminis var. triciti that drastically decreases wheat crop yield in the state of Washington.

Deciphering the functional landscape of phosphosites with deep neural network
Summary: Current biochemical approaches have only identified the most well-characterized kinases for a tiny fraction of the phosphoproteome, and the functional assignments of phosphosites are almost negligible. Herein, we analyze the substrate preference

Conferring the ability to utilize inorganic polyphosphate on ATP-specific NAD kinase [PDF]
ATP特異性の獲得メカニズムの解明 : 新薬と新しい物質生産系の開発に期待. 京都大学プレスリリース. 2013-09-11.NAD kinase (NADK) is a crucial enzyme for production of NADP(+). ATP-specific NADK prefers ATP to inorganic polyphosphate [poly(P)] as a phosphoryl donor, whereas poly(P)/ATP-NADK utilizes ...
