Alpha-lipoic acid ameliorates nab-paclitaxel-induced peripheral neuropathy by inhibiting IL-17 signaling pathway

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundThe precise mechanisms by which alpha-lipoic acid (LA) alleviates nab-paclitaxel (nab-PTX)-induced peripheral neuropathy have yet to be fully elucidated.

Current Collector Engineering for New Efficient Bioresorbable Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioresorbable Na‐ion battery is proposed with Mo or Mg thin‐film current collectors for temporary implants. Mo‐based batteries exhibit superior electrochemical performance and stable cycling compared with Mg counterparts. XPS was used to investigate the Mo/Mg surface oxidation.

Systems toxicology: real world applications and opportunities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Systems Toxicology aims to change the basis of how adverse biological effects of xenobiotics are characterized from empirical end points to describing modes of action as adverse outcome pathways and perturbed networks. Toward this aim, Systems Toxicology

A Novel IDO1/NE Dual Inhibitor, IMM‐H018 Prevents the Primary and Secondary Sepsis and Ameliorates the Kidney Injury Through Inhibiting the Cytokine Storm and Microthrombosis, and Reversing Immunosuppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IMM‐H018, a dual IDO1/NE inhibitor, demonstrates potent therapeutic efficacy in sepsis by simultaneously targeting excessive inflammation and immune dysfunction. It prevents both primary and secondary sepsis through anti‐inflammatory, immune‐restoring, and renoprotective mechanisms, reducing organ damage, improving immune homeostasis, preserving kidney

Elucidating the mechanism of triphenyl phosphate interference in bone metabolism via network toxicology and molecular docking methodologies

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
ObjectiveThis study aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which the widely used organophosphate flame retardant and plasticizer, triphenyl phosphate (TPhP), disrupts bone metabolism, highlighting the potential impact of environmental chemicals on

Investigation of the toxicological effects of PFAS on cholangiocarcinoma based on network toxicology, bioinformatics, and molecular docking

open access: yesScientific Reports
Previous studies have identified an association between per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and the occurrence of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC), but the specific mechanisms remain unclear. This study aims to analyze the toxicological mechanisms of PFAS, particularly perfluoroctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (), on ICC ...

Targeted β‐Glucan‐Veiled Oral Apremilast Nanotherapy Modulates Key Dysbiosis‐Associated Gut Microbiota and Alleviates Ulcerative Colitis‐Associated Anxiety, Depression, and Neuropsychiatric Behaviors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces β‐glucan‐shielded apremilast laden nanomicelles that withstand gastrointestinal degradation, selectively accumulate in inflamed colon tissue, and modulate the microbiota–gut–brain axis. The formulation restores barrier integrity, reduces systemic and neuroinflammation, and improves anxiety‐ and depression‐like behaviors in colitis

Unraveling the PFOS-NSCLC axis: integrated network toxicology, machine learning, and causal inference identify EIF4EBP1 as a key molecular hub

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health
BackgroundPerfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) is a persistent environmental pollutant with suspected carcinogenic potential; however, the molecular mechanisms driving PFOS-associated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remain obscure.

Membrane‐Active Peptide Protects Against Inflammation by Targeting NLRP3 Activation at the Trans‐Golgi Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The membrane‐active peptide Pep19‐2.5 reduces harmful inflammation by blocking activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome at trans‐Golgi network membranes. By targeting key membrane interactions, Pep19‐2.5 suppresses inflammatory IL‐1β production and alleviates allergic airway inflammation in mice, leading to reduced immune cell infiltration and improved ...
