Neurokinin B Analogs Substituted with Glycine [PDF]
Abstract Four Neurokinin B analogs substituted with glycine at position 4, 5, 6, or 7 were synthesized by Merrifield’s solid phase method. Pharmacological property of the analogs is described. The results suggest that Phe6 and Val7 residues may be essential for intrinsic activity on smooth muscle.

Role of neurokinin B in ovine puberty
Puberty is the process whereby an individual acquires the ability to reproduce, and the attainment of puberty in a timely manner is critical for both humans and livestock. For livestock, the initiation of puberty at the appropriate time aids in increasing lifetime productivity, thus maximizing profitability for producers.

Neurokinin receptors in the gastrointestinal muscle wall: cell distribution and possible roles
The neurokinin receptors are G-protein-linked receptors; three distinct molecules, called neurokinin-1, neurokinin-2, and neurokinin-3 receptors, have been identified.

A Neural Circuit Underlying the Generation of Hot Flushes
Summary: Hot flushes are a sudden feeling of warmth commonly associated with the decline of gonadal hormones at menopause. Neurons in the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus that express kisspeptin and neurokinin B (Kiss1ARH neurons) are candidates for ...

An antiangiogenic neurokinin-B/thromboxane A2 regulatory axis [PDF]
Establishment of angiogenic circuits that orchestrate blood vessel development and remodeling requires an exquisite balance between the activities of pro- and antiangiogenic factors. However, the logic that permits complex signal integration by vascular endothelium is poorly understood.

Autocrine regulation of human sperm motility by tachykinins
Background We examined the presence and function of tachykinins and the tachykinin-degrading enzymes neprilysin (NEP) and neprilysin-2 (NEP2) in human spermatozoa.

The effects of supraphysiological levels of testosterone on neural networks upstream of gonadotropin-releasing hormone neurons [PDF]
Objective(s): Several pathological conditions are associated with hyper-production of testosterone; however, its impacts are not well understood. Hence, we evaluated the effects of supraphysiological levels of testosterone on gonadotropin-releasing ...
