Synaptic Inhibition Influences the Temporal Coding Properties of Medial Superior Olivary Neurons. An in vitro Study [PDF]
The medial superior olive (MSO) functions as a coincidence detector for interaural time and phase differences by integrating excitatory synaptic inputs.

Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Gene profiling of identified neurons to dissect molecular mechanisms involved in spinal reflex assembly [PDF]
The central question during my PhD studies was to understand the molecular mechanisms and genetic cascades controlling the sequential specification of distinct classes of dorsal root ganglia (DRG) sensory neurons, with a particular focus on genes ...

Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

In vivo function of NGF/TrkA signaling in the cholinergic neurons of the murine basal forebrain [PDF]
The neurotrophins are a family of secreted proteins that potently regulate diverse neuronal responses. The neurotrophin nerve growth factor (NGF) and its receptors TrkA and p75 are well characterized to control survival, differentiation and function of ...

A single mechanism can explain the speed tuning properties of MT and V1 complex neurons
A recent study by Priebe et al., (2006) has shown that a small proportion (27%) of primate directionally selective, complex V1 neurons are tuned for the speed of image motion.

Healthy mitochondria for stroke cells
Stroke is a debilitating disease that remains as a significant unmet need. Although our understanding of the disease pathology has advanced over the years, treatment options for stroke are limited.

Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
