Proteolytic remodelling of the extracellular matrix by pericytes
Pericytes are specialised perivascular cells intimately connected with endothelial cells and essential for the maintenance of vascular beds. They contribute to the formation and remodelling of the extracellular matrix by actively secreting proteases and protease inhibitors.

Pubertal development and hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal axis are altered in male mice lacking Mecp2
Abstract Mutations in the MECP2 gene, encoding the epigenetic reader Methyl‐CpG binding protein 2, are the main cause of Rett syndrome, a rare neurodevelopmental disorder. Besides severe symptoms such as profound intellectual disability, loss of speech and motor skills, and epilepsy, loss of function of MECP2 has been associated with pubertal ...

Semaphorin–Neuropilin Interactions Underlying Sympathetic Axon Responses to Class III Semaphorins
Neuropilin-1 and neuropilin-2 show specificity in binding to different class III semaphorins, including Sema III, Sema E, and Sema IV, suggesting that the specificity of action of these semaphorins is dictated by the complement of neuropilins expressed ...

Aptamer‐Based Delivery Systems for VEGF and NGF Modulation in Ocular Therapies
Aptamer‐based delivery systems targeting NGF and VEGF hold significant potential for precise and sustained treatment of complex diseases affecting both the anterior and posterior segments of the eye. This review critically summarizes current strategies for NGF and VEGF delivery as well as VEGF sequestration, providing a clinical perspective on how ...

Search for new inhibitors that prevent SARS-CoV-2 binding to neuropilin 1
Neuropilin 1 je eden najpomembnejših koreceptorjev vaskularnega endotelijskega rastnega faktorja A. Vključen je v številne fiziološke in patološke procese, med drugim sodeluje pri vezavi virusa SARS-CoV-2.

Extracellular vesicles from severe COVID‐19 airways carry depleted miRNAs and elevated DAMPs, reprogramming monocytes toward senescence, impaired metabolism, and predominantly reduced cytokine responses. However, they drive excess IL‐8 production, amplifying neutrophil recruitment and dysfunctional inflammation across the respiratory tract.
