Metal Complexes Containing Boron Based Ligands [PDF]
Boron-based compounds have been utilized as ligands within transition metal complexes for many decades. The diversity of such compounds in terms of varying functional groups is truly exceptional.

The Far Side of Carboranes: Anticancer Active Monocations and Ambiently Stable Dications
This work describes the synthesis of bench‐stable dicationic carboranes. Their enhanced electrophilicity is documented by opening the clusters with weak nucleophiles or dihydrogen. The surprising stability of positively charged carboranes in water enabled a study of their in vitro antiproliferative activity, which surpassed the effects of doxorubicin ...

Entering new chemical space with isolable complexes of single, zero-valent silicon and germanium atoms [PDF]
Monatomic zero-valent silicon and germanium complexes (silylones and germylones), stabilised by neutral donating ligands, emerged only recently as a new class of low-valent group 14 element compounds.

Trigonal Phosphine Umpolung: Electrophilicity Driven by a Redox‐Active Boron Cluster
Coupling of a phosphine to a redox‐active cluster enables polarity reversal, or umpolung, at phosphorus. Phosphines are classically known for their nucleophilicity, and while electrophilic reactivity has been observed in geometrically constrained, non‐trigonal systems, similar behavior in ordinary trigonal phosphines is rare.
