Carborane Guests for Cucurbit[7]uril Facilitate Strong Binding and on Demand Removal [PDF]
High affinity guest have been reported for the macrocyclic host cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]), enabling widespread applications, but preventing CB[7] materials from being returned to their guest-free state for reuse.

Trigonal Phosphine Umpolung: Electrophilicity Driven by a Redox‐Active Boron Cluster
Coupling of a phosphine to a redox‐active cluster enables polarity reversal, or umpolung, at phosphorus. Phosphines are classically known for their nucleophilicity, and while electrophilic reactivity has been observed in geometrically constrained, non‐trigonal systems, similar behavior in ordinary trigonal phosphines is rare.

Two New closo- or nido-Carborane Diphosphine Complexes: Synthesis, Characterization and Crystal Structures [PDF]
Two new carborane complexes containing closo- or nido-carborane diphosphine ligands with the formula: complex (1) and (2) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and X-ray structure determination. The X-ray structure analyses revealed that the carborane diphosphine ligand was degraded from closo-1,2 ...

Organocatalytic B–H Functionalization of Carboranes via Photo‐Induced Hydrogen Atom Transfer
Visible‐light organocatalytic hydrogen atom transfer enables direct carborane B─H bond functionalization. A photocatalytically generated cationic aminium radical selectively abstracts hydrogen from hydridic boron sites, forming boron‐centered radicals that couple with activated olefins or imines to deliver B‐functionalized carboranes under mild ...

Synthesis and molecular structure of a manganese tricarbonyl complex based on 5,6-nido-C2B8H12 carborane [PDF]
The anionic manganese tricarbonyl complex [1,1,1-(CO)3-isonido-1,2,4-MnC2B8H10]–was synthesized in the form of PPN and tmdaH salts (PPN is bis(triphenylphosphine)iminium, tmda is N,N,N’,N’-tetramethyl-1,8-diaminonaphthalene) by the reaction of the ...

nido-carborane conjugates with ibuprofen, flurbiprofen and fenoprofen: synthesis, characterization, COX inhibition potential and anticancer activity [PDF]
The search for novel anticancer drugs with reduced side effects and innovative therapeutic approaches remains a significant challenge. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), known to inhibit cyclooxygenase (COX) – an enzyme overexpressed in ...

Boron‐10 carriers and their applications in boron neutron capture therapy [PDF]
Summary of different types of boron drugs. Abstract Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) has emerged as a promising therapeutic modality in cancer treatment, demonstrating the ability to selectively eliminate cancer cells through the 10B(n,α)7Li nuclear reaction with minimal side effects on normal tissues.

Palladium-Catalyzed Heck Reactions of Styrene Derivatives and 2-Iodo-p-carborane [PDF]
p-Carborane has been vinylated on the 2-B-atom in high yields using the Heck reaction. Thus, the reaction between 2-iodo-p-carborane and various styrenes [4-H-, 4-C6H4-, 4-Cl-, 4-Br-, 4-NO2-, 4-CH3O-, and 4-CH3-] resulted in the production of the ...
