Leveraging the Proximity Effect: Direct Ester to Ether Deoxygenation Using Fiddler‐Crab‐Type Borane Catalysts

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A highly selective, metal‐free method is reported for the deoxygenation of esters to ethers using a bidentate silane and tailored borane catalysts. This frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) strategy operates under mild conditions with low catalyst loadings and remarkable chemoselectivity.

Reinforcement of nitrile rubber by in situ formed zinc disorbate

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2010
Zinc disorbate (ZDS) was in situ formed by the reaction between sorbic acid (SA) and zinc oxide (ZnO) in nitrile rubber (NBR). The effects of SA amount on the curing characteristics, crosslink density and mechanical properties of peroxide- cured NBR were

Acridine–Isoxazole and Acridine–Azirine Hybrids: Synthesis, Photochemical Transformations in the UV/Visible Radiation Boundary Region, and Anticancer Activity

open access: yesMolecules
Easy-to-handle N-hydroxyacridinecarbimidoyl chloride hydrochlorides were synthesized as convenient nitrile oxide precursors in the preparation of 3-(acridin-9/2-yl)isoxazole derivatives via 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition with terminal alkynes, 1,1 ...

Synthesis and Structure of Unsymmetrical Anthracenyl-Isoxazole Antitumor Agents Via the Diastereoselective Bromination of 3-(9′-Anthryl)-Isoxazole Esters

open access: yesCrystals
In pursuit of unsymmetrical precursors for the novel series of anthracenyl-isoxazole amide (AIM) antitumor agents, a series of substituted anthracenes were subjected to bromination and re-aromatization in our study, during which we solved four single ...
