Suspended Lithium Nitrate‐Based Electrolytes: Electrostatic Interactions for Mutually Rewarding Interface Optimization Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Suspended LiNO3 particles have a dual function: LiNO3 enhances electrode‐electrolyte compatibility by influencing the Li+ solvation environment. At the same time, LiNO3 adsorbed on the electrode surface can decompose in situ to form LiNxOy‐rich EEIs with the kinetic property of accelerated Li+ transport.

Hydrogen Drives Part of the Reverse Krebs Cycle under Metal or Meteorite Catalysis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 61, Issue 51, December 19, 2022., 2022
Hydrogen is a geological reducing agent that powers the metabolisms of modern organisms and potentially also powered the metabolism of the last universal common ancestor to all extant life. It is shown that catalytic amounts of transition metals or small amounts of powdered meteorites allow hydrogen to drive a key sequence of the reverse Krebs cycle ...

Asymmetric one-pot synthesis of cyclopropanes

open access: yesMacedonian Journal of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, 2016
Cycloaddition of the diazoalkanes to electron-deficient olefins (in situ) affords polysubstituted cyclopropanes in high yields (up to 85%). Deprotection of the ketal protecting group provided water-soluble cyclopropane-bearing carbohydrate in good yields.

Doping of Graphene Nanoribbons via Functional Group Edge Modification [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
We report on the on-surface synthesis of 7 armchair graphene nanoribbons (7-AGNRs) substituted with nitrile (CN) functional groups. The CN groups are attached to the GNR backbone by modifying the 7-AGNR precursor. While many of these groups survive the on-surface synthesis, the reaction process causes the cleavage of some CN from the ribbon backbone ...

Synthesis of terephthalonitrile N,N-dioxide [PDF]

open access: yes
The preparation is described of terephthalonitrile N,N prime-dioxide by the chlorination of terephthalaldehyde dioxime to yield terephthalohydroximol chloride, to which absolute methynol was added to yield the ...

A General Strategy for C(sp3)─H Bond Etherification via Quinoline Derivative‐Mediated Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A quinoline‐based mediator is introduced for the electrochemical etherification of C(sp3)─H bonds, enabling the process with minimal dependence on substrate electronic properties. The reaction demonstrates compatibility with various C─H bonds, including tertiary benzylic C─H bonds and unactivated C(sp3)─H bonds.

Giant reversible barocaloric effects in Nitrile Butadiene Rubber around room temperature [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Elastomers have shown to be promising barocaloric materials, being suitable candidates for solid-state cooling devices. Moreover, this family of polymers presents additional advantages, such as their low cost and long fatigue life. In this context, we investigated the barocaloric effects in Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) in a large range around room ...
