Exploring the De Novo NMN Biosynthesis as an Alternative Pathway to Enhance NMN Production

ACS Synthetic Biology
Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) serves as a precursor for NAD+ synthesis and has been shown to have positive effects on the human body. Previous research has predominantly focused on the nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase-mediated route (NadV-mediated route) for NMN biosynthesis.

Recent observations on the structure and the properties of yeast NMN adenylyltransferase

Experientia, 1988
A homogeneous preparation of yeast NMN adenylyltransferase (EC 2.7.7.1) showed microheterogeneity, which was revealed by FPLC (Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography) ion exchange chromatography. The resolved components have been characterized with respect to electrophoretic behavior and adenine content.

Modulation of Cytotoxicity of Benzamide Riboside by Expression of NMN Adenylyltransferase

Current Medicinal Chemistry, 2002
Benzamide riboside (BR) is a nucleoside prodrug that is phosphorylated to its 5'-monophosphate (BRMP) and then converted to its active metabolite, BAD (benzamide adenine dinucleotide), an analogue of NAD by the action of NMN adenylyltransferase (NMNAT). BAD is a potent, reversible, and noncompetitive inhibitor of inosine 5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase (

NMN-Adenylyltransferase und NAD+-Kinase

2003

NMN Synbiotics: A Multifaceted Therapeutic Approach for Alzheimer’s Disease

Neurochemical Research
With the aging global population, Alzheimer's disease (AD) has become a significant social and economic burden, necessitating the development of novel therapeutic strategies. This study investigates the therapeutic potential of nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) synbiotics, a combination of NMN, Lactiplantibacillus plantarum CGMCC 1.16089, and lactulose,
