Age Progression/Regression by Conditional Adversarial Autoencoder

open access: yes, 2017
"If I provide you a face image of mine (without telling you the actual age when I took the picture) and a large amount of face images that I crawled (containing labeled faces of different ages but not necessarily paired), can you show me what I would ...

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

Influence of Relative Humidity and Aging on Morphology and Chemical Composition on Biomass Burning Particle

open access: yesAerosol and Air Quality Research
Agricultural waste burning is a major source of fine particulate matter (FPM), which remains in long-term suspension in the atmosphere during the aging processes.

Potential of strain-integrated gas infusion (SIGI) casting on post-heat treatment kinetics of AZ91 magnesium alloy

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys
Heat treatments play a crucial role in enhancing the mechanical properties of AZ91 Mg alloy by dissolving coarse phases during solution treatment and promoting precipitation during aging.

From laser cooling to aging: a unified Levy flight description

open access: yes, 2008
Intriguing phenomena such as subrecoil laser cooling of atoms, or aging phenomenon in glasses, have in common that the systems considered do not reach a steady-state during the experiments, although the experimental time scales are very large compared to

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Enhancing mechanical properties of wire + arc additively manufactured INCONEL 718 superalloy through in-process thermomechanical processing

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2018
Wire + arc additive manufacture (WAAM) was applied to produce INCONEL 718 superalloy (IN718) components in a layer by layer manner; further, interpass cold rolling was introduced to generate in-process thermomechanical processing effect during the ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Hippocampal iron patterns in aging and mild cognitive impairment

open access: yesFrontiers in Aging Neuroscience
IntroductionThe entorhinal cortex (EC)-hippocampus system is critical for memory and affected early in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Cognitive dysfunction in AD is linked to neuropathological changes, including non-heme iron accumulation in vulnerable brain ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.
