Chronic oral exposure to microplastics may disrupt gut microbiota homeostasis and intestinal barrier integrity, potentially engaging the gut–brain axis and systemic inflammatory responses. These alterations may be associated with impaired blood–brain barrier function, cerebral microvascular dysfunction, and enhanced endothelial inflammation, pro ...

Genitofemoral neuralgia : adding to the burden of chronic vulvar pain [PDF]
The vulva is a particularly common locus of chronic pain with neuropathic characteristics that occurs in women of any age, though most women with neuropathic type chronic vulvar pain will remain undiagnosed even following multiple physician visits. Here,

Disrupted neurovascular coupling contributes to ovarian dysfunction in polycystic ovary syndrome. Using near‑infrared II long‑wavelength imaging, this study visualizes how electroacupuncture dynamically regulates ovarian blood vessels in vivo. Immediate and cumulative stimulation elicit distinct vascular responses via a Netrin‐1 dependent mechanism ...

A Third Variable in Obesity: The Effects of Brown Adipose Tissue on Thermogenesis
Approaches to weight management which consider only energy intake and/or expenditure do not consistently lead to favorable outcomes. A third variable, thermogenesis, must also be considered in a comprehensive understanding of obesity· Three types of ...

Exocytosis from permeabilized bovine adrenal chromaffin cells is differently modulated by guanosine 5'-[gamma-thio]triphosphate and guanosine 5'-[beta gamma-imido]triphosphate [PDF]
1. In bovine adrenal chromaffin cells made permeable either to molecules less than or equal to 3 kDa with alphatoxin or to proteins less than or equal to 150 kDa with streptolysin O, the GTP analogues guanosine 5'-[beta gamma-imido]triphosphate (p[NH]ppG)

Current Perspective on the Location and Function of Gamma- Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) and its Metabolic Partners in the Kidney. [PDF]
Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is an inhibitory neurotransmitter located in the mammalian central nervous system, which binds to GABAA and GABAB receptors to mediate its neurological effects.

Noradrenaline-phospholipid interactions
AbstractThe uptake of (±)-[3H]noradrenaline from an aqueous phase to an ether phase containing dissolved lecithin has been measured. No differences between the behaviour of (+)- or (—)-noradrenaline in this system could be detected. The biological implications of this finding are discussed.

Fe‐based magnetic nanocubes conjugated with TRPV1 antibodies (FeNCs‐TRPV1) are developed for the specific targeting of TRPV1 channels. Intraspinally injected FeNCs‐TRPV1 induces TRPV1 desensitization in rats exposed to repetitive and transient ACMF.
