Chemical and enzymatic biotin-labeling of oligodeoxyribonucleotides

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1985
Biotin has been converted to 2-(biotinylamido)ethanol and condensed to phosphorylated oligonucleotides in a solid phase synthesis. The 5'-biotinylated oligonucleotides were enzymatically coupled to other DNA fragments by T4 DNA ligase or T4 RNA ligase. The hybridization properties of such biotin-labeled oligonucleotide probes were studied.

The chemical end-ligation of homopyrimidine oligodeoxyribonucleotides within a DNA triple helix

open access: yes, 1997
Background: Triple-helical nucleic acids, first reported in the late 1950s, are receiving attention for their possible involvement in controlling gene expression. Certain sequences of DNA are believed to form local triple-helical structures (H-form DNA),

Interaction of the recombinant human methylpurine-DNA glycosylase (MPG protein) with oligodeoxyribonucleotides containing either hypoxanthine or abasic sites

open access: yes, 1998
Methylpurine-DNA glycosylases (MPG proteins, 3-methyladenine-DNA glycosylases) excise numerous damaged bases from DNA during the first step of base excision repair.

3'-O-Formyl-(N-acyl)-2'-deoxyribonucleosides as building units in the synthesis of oligodeoxyribonucleotides

open access: yes, 1982
5'-O-Dimethoxytrityl-(N-acyl)-2'-deoxyribonucleosides afford 3'-O-formyl-(N-acyl)-2'-deoxyribonucleosides Ia-Id by the action of formic acetic anhydride followed by the action of 80% aqueous acetic acid.

Methods towards the incorporation of metal carbonyl complexes into oligodeoxyribonucleotides

open access: yes, 1993
There has been considerable interest in the development of non-radioactively labeled oligodeoxyribonucleotides for use as (1) probes in molecular biology research, (2) medical diagnostic tools, and (3) agents for the investigation of protein/DNA ...

Comparison of controlled pore glass and Kieselguhr-polydimethylacrylamide composite as supports for solid-phase synthesis of 23-residue oligodeoxyribonucleotides in milligram amounts

open access: yes, 1985
Two 23-residue oligodeoxyribonucleotides, corresponding to both strands of a DNA duplex at the OR3 site of bacteriophage λ, have been synthesized in good yields and in milligram quantities by a solid-phase phosphotriester method using two different ...

The Synthesis of Oligodeoxyribonucleotides With Rna Ligase

open access: yes, 1980
RNA ligase, isolated from bacteriophage T4-infected Escherichia coli catalyzes the ATP-dependent formation of a 3' (--->) 5'-phosphodiester bond between one oligonucleotide with a 3'-hydroxyl group (the acceptor molecule) and another with a 5 ...

Cross-Linking Antisense Oligodeoxyribonucleotides with a Photoresponsive α‑Chloroaldehyde Moiety for RNA Point Mutations

open access: yes, 2016
Because point mutations in GTPase-coding genes have been reported to be responsible for the transformation of cells, anticancer reagents that react effectively and sequence selectively with target RNAs having a point mutation are highly desired.
