Chemical Syntheses of Oligodeoxyribonucleotides Containing Spore Photoproduct

open access: yes, 2016
5-(α-Thyminyl)-5,6-dihydrothymine, also called spore photoproduct or SP, is commonly found in the genomic DNA of UV-irradiated bacterial endospores. Despite the fact that SP was discovered nearly 50 years ago, its biochemical impact is still largely ...

Synthesis and characterization of new 3 '-3 ' linked oligodeoxyribonucleotides for alternate strand triple helix formation

open access: yes, 1999
Protected forms of 1,2,3-propanetriol and cis, cis-1,3,5- cyclohexanetriol were incorporated onto solid supports which were exploited in the solid phase synthesis of 3'-3' linked oligodeoxyribonucleotides (ODNs), involving only nucleoside 3 ...

DNA‐PKcs‐Driven YAP1 Phosphorylation and Nuclear Translocation: a Key Regulator of Ferroptosis in Hyperglycemia‐Induced Cardiac Dysfunction in Type 1 Diabetes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 28, July 24, 2025.
In the context of chronic hyperglycemia, a DDR is initiated, leading to the pathological activation of DNA‐PKcs in the diabetic heart. This activated DNA‐PKcs directly interacts with and phosphorylates YAP1 at Thr226, thereby increasing the nuclear expression of YAP1.

The synthesis of oligodeoxyribonucleotides using RNA ligase

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1979
T4 RNA ligase catalyzes the addition of a single deoxyribonucleoside 3',5'-bisphosphate to the 3'-hydroxyl of oligodeoxyribonucleotides (Hinton et al. (1978) Biochemistry 17, 5091). We have determined improved conditions for this reaction which give yields equal to or greater than 85% when any of five common deoxyribonucleoside bisphosphate (pdAp, pdCp,

Exploring the importance of predicted camel NRAP exon 4 for environmental adaptation using a mouse model

open access: yesAnimal Genetics, Volume 56, Issue 1, February 2025.
Abstract Camels possess exceptional adaptability, allowing them to withstand extreme temperatures in desert environments. They conserve water by reducing their metabolic rate and regulating body temperature. The heart of the camel plays a crucial role in this adaptation, with specific genes expressed in cardiac tissue that are essential for mammalian ...

Synthesis of Modified Oligodeoxyribonucleotides on a Solid-Phase Support via Derivatization of a Selectively Revealed 2‘-Amino-2‘-deoxyuridine

open access: yes, 2016
High yields of oligodeoxyribonucleotides modified at the C2‘-position of site specifically incorporated 2‘-amino-2‘-deoxyuridine are obtained by photolytically unmasking the nucleophile in an otherwise protected solid-phase support-bound ...
