Regulation of organic anion transport in the liver.

open access: yesThe Yale journal of biology and medicine, 1997
In several liver diseases the biliary transport is disturbed, resulting in, for example, jaundice and cholestasis. Many of these symptoms can be attributed to altered regulation of hepatic transporters. Organic anion transport, mediated by the canalicular multispecific organic anion transporter (cmoat), has been extensively studied.

Inhibitory effects of Kampo medicines, Keishibukuryogan and Shakuyakukanzoto, on the substrate uptake activities of solute carrier organic anion transporters

open access: yes, 2018
The aim of this study was to assess the effects of Keishibukuryogan (K-06) and Shakuyakukanzoto (TJ-68), commercial herbal medicines, on the substrate uptake activities of renal organic anion transporters.

Distinguishing Molecular Properties of OAT, OATP, and MRP Drug Substrates by Machine Learning

open access: yesPharmaceutics
The movement of organic anionic drugs across cell membranes is partly governed by interactions with SLC and ABC transporters in the intestine, liver, kidney, blood–brain barrier, placenta, breast, and other tissues.

Organic anion transporters in remote sensing and organ crosstalk

open access: yesPharmacology & Therapeutics
The organic anion transporters, OAT1 and OAT3, regulate the movement of drugs, toxins, and endogenous metabolites. In 2007, we proposed that OATs and other SLC22 transporters are involved in "remote sensing" and organ crosstalk. This is now known as the Remote Sensing and Signaling Theory (RSST).

Synthesis of AgBiS2 and AgInS2 Based on Formation Energies in Sulfur‐Rich Reducing Flame

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐surface‐area AgInS2 and AgBiS2 nanoparticles were synthesized via enclosed flame spray pyrolysis by tuning flame conditions and formation energies to guide phase formation. Flame parameters were tuned to suppress oxides and enable pure sulfide phase growth.

Organic anion transporters of the SLC22 family: Biopharmaceutical, physiological, and pathological roles

open access: yes, 2007
The human organic anion transporters OAT1, OAT2, OAT3, OAT4 and URAT1 belong to a family of poly-specific transporters mainly located in kidneys. Selected OATs occur also in liver, placenta, and brain. OATs interact with endogenous metabolic end products

Urinary Excretion of Tetrodotoxin Modeled in a Porcine Renal Proximal Tubule Epithelial Cell Line, LLC-PK1

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2017
This study examined the urinary excretion of tetrodotoxin (TTX) modeled in a porcine renal proximal tubule epithelial cell line, LLC-PK1. Time course profiles of TTX excretion and reabsorption across the cell monolayers at 37 °C showed that the amount of

Spiro‐Phenothiazine Hole‐Transporting Materials: Unlocking Stability and Scalability in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorene‐functionalized spiro‐phenothiazine (PTZ‐Fl) exhibits strong Li+ affinity and thermal stability, enabling a PCE of 25.75% in small‐area cells and 22.07% in 25 cm2 modules. Under ISOS‐L3 conditions, PTZ‐Flbased devices retain over 80% efficiency after 1000 hours, demonstrating superior stability and scalability compared to spiro‐OMeTAD for next ...

Differential expression of basolateral and canalicular organic anion transporters during regeneration of rat liver

open access: yes, 1999
BACKGROUND & AIMS: Liver regeneration in response to various forms of injury or surgical resection is a complex process resulting in restoration of the original liver mass and maintenance of liver-specific functions such as bile formation. However, liver
