Orosomucoid 1 Participates in Alveolar Hypercoagulation and Fibrinolytic Inhibition Involving NF-κB Signaling Pathway in LPS-Induced ARDS. [PDF]

open access: yesFASEB J
ORM1 promotes LPS‐induced ARDS by activating NF‐κB in alveolar epithelial II cells, upregulating TF/PAI‐1 to cause hypercoagulation and fibrinolysis inhibition, leading to lung injury. ORM1 knockdown reverses these effects, indicating therapeutic potential.

The role of the host—Neutrophil biology

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Neutrophilic polymorphonuclear leukocytes (neutrophils) are myeloid cells packed with lysosomal granules (hence also called granulocytes) that contain a formidable antimicrobial arsenal. They are terminally differentiated cells that play a critical role in acute and chronic inflammation, as well as in the resolution of inflammation and wound ...

Association Between Levels of the Acute Phase Proteins Alpha-1-Acid Glycoprotein and C-Reactive Protein and Serum Concentrations of Clozapine: A Study of 1106 Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Samples. [PDF]

open access: yesBasic Clin Pharmacol Toxicol
ABSTRACT Several publications have reported elevated clozapine concentrations in patients experiencing infections or inflammatory reactions. Proposed mechanisms include increased levels of pro‐inflammatory cytokines that may inhibit clozapine metabolism and enhanced binding of clozapine to the acute phase protein alpha‐1‐acid glycoprotein (AGP).

Air pollution and biomarkers of cardiovascular disease and inflammation in the Malmö Diet and Cancer cohort

open access: yesEnvironmental Health, 2022
Introduction Air pollution is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease, possibly through chronic systemic inflammation that promotes the progression of atherosclerosis and the risk of cardiovascular events. This study aimed to investigate

Study of urinary markers of different podocytopathies by proteomic analysis

open access: yesТерапевтический архив, 2023
Background. Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a primary podocytopathy characterized by primary podocyte detection and high proteinuria. The search for biomarkers and factors associated with the progression of this disease is an important task ...

Identification of Potential Drug Targets for Antiplatelet Therapy Specifically Targeting Platelets of Old Individuals through Proteomic Analysis

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2023
Aging is a growing problem worldwide, and the prevalence and mortality of arterial and venous thromboembolism (VTE) are higher in the elderly than in the young population. To address this issue, various anticoagulants have been used. However, no evidence

Inheritance of human α1-acid glycoprotein (orosomucoid) variants [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Investigation, 1969
Although variants of sialic acid-free alpha(1)-acid glycoprotein have been described in human beings, the mode of inheritance of these types has not been reported previously. With the use of a new technique of immunofixation after agarose gel electrophoresis of neuraminidase-treated whole serum, the present study demonstrates that the types of alpha(1)-
