Biological evaluations of novel 2,3,3-Trisphosphonate in osteoclastic and osteoblastic activities [PDF]
Bisphosphonates (BPs) are the first line treatment for many bone diseases including hypercalcimia associated with bone malignancies. In this paper, we introduce a new analogue of bisphosphonate called the 2,3,3-Trisphosphonate (2,3,3-TriPP) that was ...

Wdr5 Is Essential for Osteoblast Differentiation
Wdr5 is developmentally expressed in osteoblasts and accelerates osteoblast differentiation in vitro and in vivo. To address whether Wdr5 is essential for osteoblast differentiation, plasmid-based small interfering RNAs were used to stably suppress endogenous Wdr5 protein levels in MC3T3-E1 cells.

This study demonstrates that somatic PIK3CA mutations suppress PPT1 expression via activation of the PI3K–AKT–c‐JUN axis. This reduction in PPT1 weakens its interaction with P300, thereby increasing palmitoylation at C1176 of P300 and protecting P300 from lysosomal degradation.

Bacterial infection and poor integration often lead to orthopedic implant failure. Modifying implant surfaces can improve osseointegration. Titanium has been engineered to form titania nanotubes doped with zinc and strontium. These surfaces were evaluated for antibacterial effects and their ability to promote osteogenic differentiation in stem cells ...

Changes in PGE2 signaling after submandibulectomy alter post–tooth extraction socket healing [PDF]
Saliva is very important to oral health, and a salivary deficit has been shown to bring serious problems to oral health. There is scant information about the mechanisms through which salivary glands participate in post–tooth extraction socket healing ...
