Characterization of OXA-181, a Carbapenem-Hydrolyzing Class D β-Lactamase from Klebsiella pneumoniae [PDF]

open access: yesAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 2011
ABSTRACT Klebsiella pneumoniae KP3 was isolated from a patient transferred from India to the Sultanate of Oman. K. pneumoniae KP3 was resistant to all β-lactams, including carbapenems, and expressed the carbapenem-hydrolyzing β-lactamase OXA-181, which differs from OXA-48 by four amino acid ...

Origin of OXA-181, an Emerging Carbapenem-Hydrolyzing Oxacillinase, as a Chromosomal Gene in Shewanella xiamenensis [PDF]

open access: yesAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 2011
ABSTRACT Plasmid-mediated carbapenem-hydrolyzing β-lactamases are becoming emerging threats with Enterobacteriaceae . In particular, the carbapenem-hydrolyzing class D β-lactamase OXA-48 and its derivative OXA-181 have been reported increasingly worldwide.

NDM-1, OXA-48 and OXA-181 carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae in Sultanate of Oman [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Microbiology and Infection, 2012
Twenty-two carbapenem-resistant enterobacterial isolates were recovered from patients hospitalized between October 2010 and March 2011 at the Royal Hospital of Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Eleven NDM-1, five OXA-48 and one NDM-1 plus OXA-181 producers of diverse ST types were recovered from clinical samples.

Plasmid analysis of Escherichia coli isolates from South Korea co-producing NDM-5 and OXA-181 carbapenemases

Plasmid, 2019
Recently, Escherichia coli isolates co-producing New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase (NDM)-5 and oxacillinase (OXA)-181 were identified in a tertiary-care hospital of South Korea. Isolate CC1702-1 was collected from urine in January 2017 and isolate CC1706-1 was recovered from a transtracheal aspirate of a hospitalized patient in May 2017.
