Multicomponent Assembly of Proposed DNA Precursors in Water [PDF]
We propose a novel pathway for the prebiotic synthesis of 2′-deoxynucleotides. Consideration of the constitutional chemical relationships between glycolaldehyde and β-mercapto-acetaldehyde, and the corresponding proteinogenic amino acids, serine and ...

Total Synthesis of Bacterial 5-(3-Indolyl)oxazole Alkaloids: Pimprinols A–C
Pimprinols A, B, and C are bacterial 5-(3-indolyl)oxazole alkaloids that have been isolated from Streptomyces sp. Lv3–13. In this paper, we report a new synthesis of pimprinol A and the first total synthesis of pimprinol B and pimprinol C.

The parent 5,5′‐binaphtho[2,1‐d]isoxazole and its 3,3′‐dimethyl and 3,3′‐diphenyl derivatives are synthesized via condensation of the respective dicarbonyl compounds with hydroxylamine, followed by cyclodehydration of the resulting dioximes. The dicarbonyl precursors are obtained through 4‐ or 6‐step sequences from 1‐naphthol or 1‐naphthaldehyde ...
