Conservation Funding at the Local Level 地方层面的保护资金

open access: yesWildlife Letters, EarlyView.
Direct conservation fund transfer to local communities ensures the involvement of these communities in decision‐making and fund utilisation, which will ultimately lead to effective biodiversity conservation. rDNAmine: A New Tool for the Analysis of Long Repetitive Sequences

open access: yesYeast, EarlyView.
This work introduces a novel approach for analysing long repetitive genomic sequences, combining a method to isolate large DNA molecules from individual chromosomes. We also describe the bioinformatics tool rDNAmine, which enables the isolation of long‐repeat sequences from reads obtained using the Oxford Nanopore method, as well as their preliminary ...

Oxford Nanopore Sequencing of the European lobster (Homarus gammarus)

open access: yes, 2018
<p>Oxford Nanopore Reads for Homarus gammarus. Approximately 1ug of gDNA (unfragmeted) was prepared with the LSK108 kit and sequenced overnight on a used R9.4 flowcell .

Characterization of the dynamic microbiome evolution across thrips species

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
Comprehensive survey of the microbiome in thrips. The dominant bacterial genera found in thrips include intracellular ones, such as Wolbachia and Spiroplasma, and extracellular ones, including Serratia, Pantoea, and Acinetobacter. We isolated and sequenced high‐quality genomes of two dominant symbionts, Pantoea dispersa and Serratia marcescens.

Decoding Dual Regulatory Layers: Integrating Differential Expression and Alternative Splicing Dynamics in the Evolution of Laryngeal Echolocation Across Chiropteran Lineages

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
We integrated short‐read and long‐read RNA‐seq data from cochlear tissues of echolocating and non‐echolocating bats to disentangle transcriptional and post‐transcriptional regulation. Echolocating bats showed neural‐function enrichment among differentially expressed genes, while alternatively spliced genes were linked to epigenetic regulation. Overlaps

NextDenovo: an efficient error correction and accurate assembly tool for noisy long reads

open access: yesGenome Biology
Long-read sequencing data, particularly those derived from the Oxford Nanopore sequencing platform, tend to exhibit high error rates. Here, we present NextDenovo, an efficient error correction and assembly tool for noisy long reads, which achieves a high

Addressing false negatives and positives in eDNA studies

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, EarlyView.
Abstract Environmental DNA (eDNA) has revolutionized the study of ecology and biodiversity, enabling species detection without direct observation in the environment. However, the implications of detection errors, specifically false positives and false negatives, are poorly reported in eDNA studies, significantly hindering our understanding of the ...

Comparative Meta-Analysis of Long-Read and Short-Read Sequencing for Metagenomic Profiling of the Lower Respiratory Tract Infections

open access: yesMicroorganisms
Metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) is increasingly employed for the diagnosis of lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs). However, the relative diagnostic performance of long-read versus short-read sequencing platforms remains incompletely ...
