Dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) regulates trophoblast syncytialization through organelle stress–induced cellular senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The inhibition of mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) impairs syncytialization and induces cellular senescence via mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress in human trophoblast stem cells, elevating sFlt1/PlGF levels, a hallmark of placental dysfunction in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

The Adaptogens Rhodiola and Schizandra Modify the Response to Immobilization Stress in Rabbits by Suppressing the Increase of Phosphorylated Stress-activated Protein Kinase, Nitric Oxide and Cortisol

open access: yesDrug Target Insights, 2007
Adaptogens possess anti-fatigue and anti-stress activities that can increase mental and physical working performance against a background of fatigue or stress.

A diet rich in cocoa attenuates N-nitrosodiethylamine-induced liver injury in rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The effects of cocoa feeding against N-nitrosodiethylamine (DEN)-induced liver injury were studied in rats. Animals were divided into five groups. Groups 1 and 2 were fed with standard and cocoa-diet, respectively.

Nano‐Engineered Titanium Implants Loaded With Gingival Fibroblasts‐Derived Microvesicles Enhance Early Osseointegration And Soft Tissue Attachment In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Our study showed that human primary gingival fibroblast–derived microvesicles on nano‐engineered titanium implants promote early osseointegration and soft‐tissue attachment in vivo. ABSTRACT Titanium dental implants require both reliable osseointegration and peri‐implant soft tissue seal formation to ensure long‐term success. While osseointegration has

JNK Signaling Pathway Mediates Acetaminophen-Induced Hepatotoxicity Accompanied by Changes of Glutathione S-Transferase A1 Content and Expression

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2019
Acetaminophen (APAP) is an analgesic–antipyretic drug and widely used in clinics. Its overdose may cause serious liver damage. Here, we examined the mechanistic role of c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) signaling pathway in liver injury induced by different ...

Effect of sodium fluoride on myocardial damage by regulating apoptosis through JNK signaling pathway

open access: yes环境与职业医学, 2023
BackgroundIt has been found that fluoride may cause cardiomyocyte damage. c-Jun N-terminal kinases (JNK) signaling pathway plays an important role in apoptosis, but its role in fluorosis-induced cardiomyocyte damage is still unknown yet.

Circular RNA PTPN4 Contributes to Blood‐Brain Barrier Disruption during Early Epileptogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Epileptic condition induces CircPTPN4 upregulation, which promotes ECE‐1 expression through competitive sequestration of miR‐145a‐5p. The elevated ECE‐1 catalyzes the ET‐1 production, leading to p38/MAPK pathway activation and subsequent downregulation of tight junction protein expression. This cascade results in increased BBB permeability and enhanced

Protective Role of microRNA-31 in Acetaminophen-Induced Liver Injury: A Negative Regulator of c-Jun N-Terminal Kinase (JNK) Signaling PathwaySummary

open access: yesCellular and Molecular Gastroenterology and Hepatology, 2021
Background & Aims: Sustained c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) activation plays a major role in drug-induced liver injury (DILI). Stress-responsive microRNA-31 (miR-31) has been implicated in regulating different cellular damage, and JNK activation could

Beating the SDP bound for the floor layout problem: A simple combinatorial idea [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
For many mixed-integer programming (MIP) problems, high-quality dual bounds can be obtained either through advanced formulation techniques coupled with a state-of-the-art MIP solver, or through semi-definite programming (SDP) relaxation hierarchies.
