Phthalate Metabolite, Mono(2‐Ethyl‐5‐Hydroxyhexyl) Phthalate (MEHHP), Promotes Uterine‐Fibroid–Associated Phenotypes in Myometrial Stem Cell‐Derived 3D Organoids

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates how phthalate exposure contributes to uterine fibroid (UF) development by studying the effects of the Mono‐(2‐ethyl‐5‐hydroxyhexyl) phthalate (MEHHP), a metabolite of Di(2‐ethylhexyl) phthalate, on myometrial stem cells (MMSCs).

PBRM1 loss in kidney cancer unbalances the proximal tubule master transcription factor hub to repress proximal tubule differentiation

open access: yesCell Reports, 2021
Summary: PBRM1, a subunit of the PBAF coactivator complex that transcription factors use to activate target genes, is genetically inactivated in almost all clear cell renal cell cancers (RCCs).

Tissue Factor‐High Ovarian Clear Cell Carcinoma Shows Immune‐Cold Features and Preclinical Activity of Tisotumab Vedotin

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
F3/TF‐high ovarian clear cell carcinoma exhibits an immune‐cold phenotype characterized by reduced immune‐cell fractions and attenuated cancer‐cell interferon programs, with frequent B7‐H4 co‐expression. Patient‐derived models show preclinical sensitivity to the TF‐directed antibody–drug conjugate tisotumab vedotin.

Wt1 Is Required for the Regression of Müllerian Ducts in Male Mice by Inducing Wif1 and Osx Expression

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Wt1 expressed in the MD mesenchyme promotes MD regression by inducing Wif1 and Osx transcription. In male mice, mesenchyme‐specific inactivation of Wt1 results in MD retention. ABSTRACT In mammals, Müllerian ducts (MDs) are the precursors of the female reproductive tract which regress in males during embryonic development.

Endocervical gastric‐type AIS: a rare histologic finding that further supports the hypothesis of a pyloric‐type metaplastic origin

open access: yesHistopathology, EarlyView.
Background Gastric‐type adenocarcinoma in situ (gAIS) is a rare, HPV‐independent precursor of cervical adenocarcinoma with incompletely defined histogenesis. Aims To report a case of gAIS and its association with pyloric‐type gastric metaplasia. Materials and Methods A case of gAIS in a 70‐year‐old woman with atypical glandular cells (Pap test) and ...

Current Advances of Molecular Biomarkers and Liquid Biopsies Techniques in Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Ovarian cancer (OC) remains a lethal gynecological malignancy with challenges in early diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and overcoming drug resistance. Liquid biopsy, a noninvasive approach analyzing tumor‐derived components in bodily fluids, has emerged as a promising tool in OC management.

Pax8 has a key role in thyroid cell differentiation [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2000
Transformation of rat thyroid cells with polyoma virus middle T antigen results in loss of the thyroid-differentiated phenotype, measured as the expression of the thyroglobulin ( Tg ), thyroperoxidase ( TPO ), and sodium/iodide symporter (

Deceptive Thyroid Pathologies: Anaplastic Thyroid Carcinoma Mimics and Clinical Implications

open access: yesHead &Neck, Volume 48, Issue 8, Page 2180-2189, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Beyond follicular‐derived thyroid carcinomas, lymphomas, and metastatic disease, there are rare pathologies of the thyroid gland that represent a challenge. We report patients with unusual malignancies that mimic similar aggressive cancers. Methods Retrospective case series.
