The expression of immunohistochemical biomarkers PAX8 and CD117 in platinum resistant ovarian cancer at Saiful Anwar General Hospital, Malang, Indonesia

open access: yesMajalah Obstetri dan Ginekologi
HIGHLIGHTS • Ovarian cancer is a gynecological disease commonly encountered by women, and resistance to platinum therapy is a significant challenge in its management • PAX8 and CD117 have shown potential as predictors of resistance in ovarian cancer ...

Clinicopathological Relevance of PAX8 Expression Patterns in Acute Kidney Injury and Chronic Kidney Diseases

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2022
Transcription factor PAX8, expressed during embryonic kidney development, has been previously detected in various kidney tumors. In order to investigate expression of PAX8 transcription factor in acute kidney injury (AKI) and chronic kidney diseases (CKD)

9.IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICAL EXPRESSIONS OF PAX8 IN OVARIAN SURFACE EPITHELIAL TUMORS

open access: yesThe Iraqi Journal of Medical Sciences, 2018
Background: PAX8 is a nuclear transcription factor with limited expression in normal and neoplastic tissues, it has the potential to induce tumorigenesis and is expressed in a tissue during neoplastic transformation.

A Cutaneous Ciliated Cyst Mımicking a Pilonidal Cyst [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2018
Cutaneous Ciliated Cyst (CCC) is a benign tumor encountered especially in the upper extremities and the perineal area in young women after puberty. CCC is located in the subcutaneous tissue in deep dermis, and histologically, it is a single, unilocular ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

PAX8 Distinguishes Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma Mimicking Sarcoma

open access: yesCase Reports in Pathology, 2017
PAX8 is important for embryogenesis of the thyroid, Müllerian system, and upper urinary/renal tract, and expression of PAX8 has been described in carcinomas from each of these sites.

Association of LncRNA-PAX8-AS1 and LAIR-2 polymorphisms along with their expression with clinical and subclinical hypothyroidism

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
The genetic and epigenetic architecture of clinical and subclinical hypothyroidism remains unclear. We investigated the impact of long noncoding RNA (LncRNA)-PAX8-AS1 and LAIR-2 genetic variants on the susceptibility to clinical and subclinical ...

PAX8 regulon in human ovarian cancer links lineage dependency with epigenetic vulnerability to HDAC inhibitors

open access: yeseLife, 2019
PAX8 is a prototype lineage-survival oncogene in epithelial ovarian cancer. However, neither its underlying pro-tumorigenic mechanisms nor potential therapeutic implications have been adequately elucidated. Here, we identified an ovarian lineage-specific

Fibromyxoid Nephrogenic Adenoma Mimicking Renal Cell Carcinoma: A Diagnostic Pitfall in Fine‐Needle Aspiration Cytology

open access: yesDiagnostic Cytopathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nephrogenic adenoma (NA) is a benign lesion of the genitourinary tract that may mimic malignancy both clinically and histologically. The fibromyxoid variant (FMNA), characterized by spindled cells in myxoid stroma, presents additional diagnostic challenges due to its rarity and overlapping features with renal cell carcinoma (RCC).
